The apprentice program was really good, working there you met so many people within CN and outside railways where you could gain knowledge. The company always listened to any complaints I had and resolved them.

Are you kidding? Cn has one of the worst apprenticeships iv ever seen. Clearly a manager boosting ratings again.

I'm got to agree the CN aprenticeship program is non existent. Anyone that says it is, is lie'n! Really this is from one that knows. And No I'm not some flunky, CN managment could really do some good and train the next generation but they won't because they are cowards! I dare any real person in management to come to Mac yard an see how poorly it is run, after all we are your future, oh and don't come down from the golden tower as a big boss! You'll never see the truth.

And by the way. For how bad the training is we do an awesome job! We are your future why don't you come and see what's going on? Hey I dare you!!

...what I found the negative people always did as little as possible and were great union supporters.....

No I'm not a fired employee, I currently am employeed and havnt missed a day in over 2 years. Seems like the only rebuttal anyone with positive rating for this company against a person with a negative one is that they must be fired or disgruntled. It's seriously time to realize what is going on at this place for the own sake of the company. It's goin to start gettin harder n harder to find legit running trades people with any talent or credentials at this rate.

Just take a look at some of the earlier ratings before h/r got hold of this and makes all management give good rating. All earlier ratings are the truth. Stay away from cn rail for employment not worth it.

It sucks to be a bitter troll obsessed with one's ex-employer!

Exactly what I'm taking about, the only argument you people have is that people complaining must be bad employees or been fired wich is false. Try using some real facts for once please.

Such a shame.. I guess someone should call the CEO and show him what all the middle management chumps are doing on work time...

The REAL workers (union folks) are getting stuff done. We kept things running before there were computers. We Are the Rail Road... Not some "get a manicure on my lunch" lazy management type..

We get one 30 min and a 15 min break.. How long is your lunch? Bet at least an hour. Plus a few breaks too, right... and ya call US lazy.. Pahaa.

Bet ya can't even swing a sledge hammer.

Terrible place to be an apprentice. The good, experience tradesmen are on their way out. Management haven't got a clue what it takes to do anything. 2014 is going to be a disastrous year for CN. By then, most of the good, experienced tradesmen, engineers etc, will have retired. Only people that will still be around will be the lesser motivated and talented apprentices.

Excellent apprenticeship program here at CN - now that many of the deadwood are retiring, there are huge opportunities here.

WOW! I wonder how the "deadwood" would feel about your comment. CN is desperate for most of their skilled workers to STAY! Exactly a typical thing for management to do. These guys are having a hard time keeping new hires and are afraid of whats going to happen when all the skilled guys leave and yet they have no problem making disparaging comments of the very people they depend on to run their railroad!

Comment 14 says it all folks.

Best company I've ever worked for. The compensation package is great, and the opportunities for advancement are plentiful. Highly recommended!!
