I work at a former PC facility. I believe the location was dysfunctional prior to the merger. It has gone from bad to worse. This is a location job, not a job for satisfaction, skill set utilization, promotion or financial gain.

My vote is to take the job here, and keep looking elsewhere...

I have worked at Suncor since the eightys back then it was a very very well run company nice people was run as a team I was proud to work there, things are now going down hill ever since Suncor was taken over by Transield and Petrocanada I would never recommend this company now, cant drive to work or you might get fired, mandatory drug testing any time ,slip, fall ,small cut test, steam burn.. test...

I'm an actual Suncor employee and this is a great place to work. Great benefits, compensation is well above what I used to get at previous employers. I work hard, and get paid for it. I'm always busy, people let me do my job, and if I have an opinion they at least listen. I am challenged on a daily basis and there is always something new to learn or do. Its what you make of it..great for...

Company has no direction and if not for those in the field and the high world price of oil this company would be a zero. No reguard for those that do the grunt work. Management as stated promotes friends and relatives with no knowledge of what to goes on. Same is applied to their sub-contractors on site.

Only one major company with fatty midlevel managers. The number of VP, Directors and Managers are more than entry/senior level (non managerial) workers. Tens of managers and leads do not have direct reports at all.

Suncor has so much to offer but instead offers nothing but frustration to its employees. Your entire career is dependent on who you know. Your boss decides your future. Suncor is in danger of becoming a dinosaur if senior eadership don't get their act together from a management and leadership perspective. Most dysfunctional company I have ever worked for in a twenty year career.

I worked for Suncor for about a year after the Petro-Canada merger. I find that upper management is not making the correct decisions regarding this company. They outsourced 100% of their IT support without thinking of the ramifications down the road. I feel that in 5 or 10 years, this decision will cost them more money that if they did a lot of their support in house. I was asked to stay on with...

Suncor isnt a bad place to work their problem lies in advancement or supervision.like someone stated if you are buddys with a supervisor you can do no wrong and be clueless and lazy yet get promoted because of your staff buddy ,they lose a lot of hard working talented people due to the frustration and decention this practice causes.

Promotion and thanks are definitely dependent on who you know and your popularity. 'There is a lot of talk about creating a culture but haven't seen anything. No incentive to walk the walk on any of the values but there is a lot of 'talk'. They do have good time off and the overall direction is clear - now they just need to figure out how to get there.

Highly stressed and little cooperation in...

Very shocking to read some of these comments on here. I work for a smallish off-site department of Suncor and find the same problems with managements corrupt practices. Could be a great place, but far from it!

Since Suncor has merged with Petro-Canada, I have not seen such an un-organized company anywhere. Upper management are making un-educated decisions regarding cuts to employment, service, etc.. This will hurt them in the long run.

Extremely good benefits, but they do not treat employees as people. Promotions are based on personal friendships and personal relationships, you can go from hero to zero if someone just does not like your personality. your contributions are rarely recognized, no matter if you work a 8 hour day or 16 hour day. Also seem to let long term employees go and employees just shy of retirement dates. I do...

An organization that does not need to do business the way they do... they've been gifted with so much and seldom appreciate it. It's like they're just concerned with more and more. HR practices are deplorable.
