• Do NOT work for this horrible company.
  
  All this company cares about is making money. It does not care about its employees or its customers at all. When I worked for Rexall, I was working at least 6 days a week, usually with no breaks, and with a lack of support staff. Management is overly pushy regarding quotas for Patient Focused Services. • lol, see all negative comments above. Terrible company. It's a company run for manager bonuses. Short term thinking so bonuses can be met, that's why there's no staff. I struggled to find 2 extra stars for there rating. I wish I could give 0 stars on some ratings. Their mental health awareness is a joke as well. They don't care about their employees at all. • This company abuses it's employees. I heard such words as "useless" and "unteachable" while working there. And they gave me the runaround trying to get my t4. was told to call payroll and had to call 5 times before finally talking to the right person who scolding me for calling about it.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Horrible company to work for . I was full time for 16 years and saw our collective agreement carved out in favour of the company.union was useless. Was laid off and transferred to a store an hour away so when I heard they were trying to get rid of more full time I took a buy out. Only stayed for the pension which the company pulled out of and the union let them. Don't bother working for this company you are better off elsewhere.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Would never recommend company to anyone. They don’t care about staff or lack of so customer service is pathetic. Not enough staff to run store. Good thing I only work part-time because I would never work here full-time. Are they that cheap to add staff to front store and pharmacy. I have never seen so much turn over in pharmacy. They have lost so many great people because they are too cheap to give them another staff or assistant in pharmacy. I get so angry but now I don’t care anymore. • Stay away from this company There are better employers out there. Pharmacists can be fired if insufficient professional services have been done on a consistent basis. There is insufficient staff to serve customers properly at many stores. Providing professional services is more important than serving the every day needs of customers. Staff morale is low and many have left or considering leaving and upper management does not care. Upper management only know how to bully staff rather help staff build proper relationships with customers in order to grow the business. Upper management is looking for short term returns at the expense of long term gains and as a result many loyal customers have left rexall for other pharmacies.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• This company is going backwards. I have never seen a company that would sacrifice the safety of its employees by scheduling so low that only one person is there to fend for themselves. They've cut their hours so low that full time employees get fired for absolutely no reason. The corporate management believes in forum for absolutely nothing. Regional directors are relying on their cliques for reporting back on other stores. Very poor!!! Managers out there, do not think of working there!!! You will regret it. • The staff I work with is pretty good, but the higher up levels are awful. I can literally be fired for reading a magazine in the break room if I just borrow it from the shelf. Also, with the discount that I get, only my spouse and I can use it, if my own mother used my discount, then me, the cashier, and the manager will be fired or written up. Very strict higher management.. Also did I mention that it's against policy to ask for a raise? • Can it get any worse? Upper management of this company is a complete joke. Labour cuts are designed to force management to quit. They want everyone to quit so they can rehire their Walmart and Shoppers friends. They have stopped stores from buying necessary supplies to operate the stores. Can't even restock the public washrooms with soap. New executives hired to prep this company to sell, so they are doing everything they possibly can to show an increase in revenue and minimal expenses. Weekly stores are advised of new labour allocation. 75% of store staff no longer get hours. Customer service is dismal. So unfortunate. This company was a great company to work for. • I have never worked so hard for so little. So little appreciation; so little validation; so little money. Such poor benefits. This is the only company I know of which had the audacity to renege on annual management bonuses 12 months after laying out goals and objectives. (Which I achieved!! What's the incentive here forward?) This company made it impossible for me to do my job to my personal sense of satisfaction. No intrinsic reward for me. Forced to choose our battles, managers were prioritizing where we should not have had to. The cream at the top could be skimmed off for sure. I quit because I decided I wasn't going to die for this company: the stress level was excruciating. I left after many years as a front store manager. Things just kept going down hill. I had no problem with most of the RD's. I had no problem with the divisional VP. I had a problem with upper management who are possibly so far removed from what goes on daily on the front line that they can't even begin to be educated about it. I am quite sure that the powers that be believe that everything outside of Toronto is considered Rural Canada. I don't know why it took me so long to get out. And after all those years, no one except my store staff even acknowledged my leaving. My job was simply posted on Indeed within 2 days. • I have been with the company for one month. I am having problems with the assistant manager not communicating or delegating tasks, as a result, it has made for an unpleasant work experience. I was out a couple of dollars on lotto and was told I had to pay for it or get written up. • This is the absolute worst company to ever work for ! • One of the WORST companies ever.... Short staffed so they can save more money.. customers get mad because there is literally only ONE person taking care of the front cash, despite there being about 5 tills available, and it being a huge store. No one looks happy doing there job, they cut the benefits even more now,and the products are overpriced too. Some of the products haven't been updated despite the prices being changed from head office therefore there are many angry customers and the cashier is left to deal with their dissatisfaction.   read complete rating Hide complete rating

• Yes I do agree with the comments posted for this employer. I was highly recommended for a role with Rexall and after going for an interview the individual(s) that interviewed me did not have any decency to let me know the outcome if I was successful or not. I can understand if I applied for a Frontline position which I won't expect a reply back, but for a position in human resources I would expect more. This shows a lot about an organization. • The location I used to work for has been aggressively hire foreign workers (including Americans) for many years. Even most of the managers are foreign workers who are sponsored by the company. Their management skills are flat-out terrible. And worst of all, all the managers cannot spell and communicate English words correctly, so there is no doubt that they got their management positions by fraudulent means.

• Rexall pharma-plus has to be the most D E S P I C A B L E company in the retail business. Its management is the most incompetent, they lack vision, business acumen. The company was supposed to be sold and that's why executives tried so hard to cut labor and push patient-focused services beyond reasonable limits. However, their short-sighted policies backfired and they lost much business. To compensate they cut even more hours and pushed for even more unreasonable metrics, the result was a vicious circle of failure. Their would be buyers probably turned them down and that's why their former CEO resigned as he FAILED in selling a functional company. This company is a total mess, and it risks patients lives by not allowing the pharmacist to conduct his job with adequate resources. Its chairman is a vicious businessman who only cares about his pocket getting fatter at the expense of poorer people. It's markup policies on prescriptions is a ripoff, and I feel shame for the amounts of money I had to extract from the ignorant and simple-minded customers who didn't diligently check how the company was taking money that they shouldn't have paid considering their medical plans and the competition.
