Intelligent Mechatronic Systems

Size of company: Medium (50 - 499 employees)

Industry: Electrical, Electronic

  • On the ground floor there is a very good group of skilled people doing the actual work with several excess layers of management put in place to simply "shield the truth" from the top. Top levels want to hear what they want to hear and nothing else, so the middle layers report what upper levels want to hear or they are replaced or leave. Trim down most of the middle and upper management and things would go much smoother. [Board Members -> President -> CEO -> Directors -> VPs -> Dept Managers -> Team Leads -> actual workers.] Why does such a company need 3-4 layers of upper management anyhow ... big salaries for little or no value?
