I worked for Big Dog 92.7 in Regina. The management there is very tight knit , covert and secretive. I was considered as part of the management team, but was not allowed to manage my own budget, make decisions affecting my department or generally run my show the way I can. I was taken on staff, fixed their major technical issues, then was laid off less than a year later. I moved half way across the country for this job and left everything behind. Overall, the experience has left me doubtful of astral media as an employer. When asked for a reference, the company has failed to respond. It's not that we parted on bad terms, however, the non responsiveness to a simple request indicates the company's true colors. I would not recommend this employer to anyone who has a great deal of experience under their belt. Local management at this radio station leaves much to be desired. This may be a good place to start a career... if you want to work for peanuts!
