i am working at a loblaws in the gta. like most of the comments, the store where i work is just as awful. part timers (i mean the ones that are not in their teens or newbies) get no recognition for their hard work and effort. the wages being paid and the actual amount of work required for each shift is very unbalanced. wages are much less for the work needed to be done. managers get all the glory for doing a half ass job. they get all the credit and incentives from upper managment. although it is considered a team effort. btb stores are the worst. new rules being applied to the store are not properly followed because no one actually takes the time to explain what the rules are. it would be nice if there was an actual document, which staff can read off of.payroll is another issue. when there is a payroll error, it will take many months before it gets corrected. you have to constantly bug your manager to see when it gets corrected. some part timers quit because they were never paid.
I hear other Loblaw company divisions such a Real Canadian Wholesale Club/Superstore, etc. also treat Pt, Ft staff like small children under constant control and supervision. It's like living in a dictatorship, the crappy HQ policies that filter down to all company ranks in all regions. The Victoria BC area superstores/wholesale clubs can't find or maintain staff levels. These bad leaders make their own stress and messes.
