Fast growing company, but working in the SOC as a Security Analyst is HELL ON EARTH. Damn stressfull and nobody cares. The staff in this department are overworked and underpaid!
Is this the same Herjavec who is one of the rich business people on the CBC entrepreneur venture capital reality show Dragon's Den? All or most really rich or OK rich people have some money and power. They all behave in a high and mighty attitude. You yourself will never become rich or be capable of holding onto any assets if you don't develop your own "tactical, hard ass, logically" personality traits and be comfortable with it.

It doesn't matter how or what you got your wealth from, most people who have some levels of wealth and power have a tough, no nonsense, logical, persistent, politician like social attention grabbing personality. Being too soft and overly accomodating only gets you screw over by other dragons or sharks. You can't be too rigid or too soft without bad results, you must be adjustable depending on situation. Rich people tend to be self confident almost to the point of arrogance and that is a good defence mechanism against others' negativity and defeatist attitudes.
