It really bugs me that there are different rules for different people. In our dept there is one person who gets her hours in 3 long shifts and 5 days off in between including every Saturday off with out asking. I forgot to add that she doesn't get any nights either. If she does she calls in with some reason. Other people get their hours over a 5 day work week, work every Saturday unless you ask for your one in four off, and usually has 2 or 3 nights each week including closing her usual Friday or Saturday night. Management and union don't see a problem because as long as you get your hours it doesn't matter. Oh I forgot to add that the one who gets everything has worked for the company for 10 years and walks around with her arms folded and the one who is getting the shaft has worked for the company for 25 years and is a hard worker.
time to file a grievance, make the Union work. Don't forget you are paying them. The key with this crap union is persistence, keep calling and bugging them, if they don't help threaten to go to a separate labor lawyer .
I think with the new contract they can do what ever they want, as long as the correct amount of hours are given out. Why the union ever suggested we except this makes you wonder who's side they're on. Let me just say they're not on my Christmas card list.
I have been through 3 contracts and haven't voted for one. With all the amendments to the previous contracts. How are we to know what the first article ever was. The union is in the companies pocket their not for us.
It's pretty sad that favoritism ranks over seniority.
You are finally realizing UFCW Is sleeping with the company, they always have been!
