A comment on 'Does the employer pay attention to work/family life balance?' The very first dept. head meeting we had this year we were told that we were NOT to request holidays on any long weekend because it would NOT be granted amonst other decrees. Also we are now required to work 2 nights a week. 2 nights a week is tolerable. I have worked hard for this company many years and can only say that in the last 5 years since they consolidated the banners management to their palace in Brampton things have gone downhill faster than ever. Morale in the stores is at an all time low. A new DM came to our store and told our employee huddle that "our store has ruined my district". Rudeness and arrogance like this it seems is tolerated from the higher ups. And they wonder why morale is low? I can only say to someone considering employment is, look elsewhere. I am dead serious. Look elsewhere! If you do accept a position, kiss your wife and kids goodbye and tell them you will see them when you are 65 if you can last that long.
