I have worked in a grocery store for almost 24 years ,I literally grew up working in retail . I loved my job when I was an employee of Dominion but unfortunately times have changed and so has managements approach on running a successful business with happy employees .I wish I had the same feeling of pride when I speak about Loblaws .I remember a time when we held functions together and played ball on Sundays together but still had the best stores in the province but now everyone is so stressed and overworked they barely have time for their own families and spend most days grumbling and back biting management and each other for that matter . I hope management wakes up and realizes the tole their penny pinching is doing to the front line workers . Why cut hours all year but when "company " is coming to town labour is not an issue ? My real question is why is it ok for our customers and staff to look at the dirt on the shelves and give excuses to customers why the shelves are empty because there isn't enough hours to fill them but once again when "company" is coming the stores look brand new ? The one good thing I can say is I give thanks for all the great co workers and the awesome customers I have grown to know and love to serve . I took the leap and left and I hope a lot of others follow my lead and look around .YOU CAN HAVE A JOB AND A FAMILY LIFE ,IT'S JUST NOT POSSIBLE WHILE WORKING FOR LOBLAWS!!!
