Got hired to work in HMR over here in milton two months ago. For the first month, I was trained by multiple seniors in my department and I felt that one hand didn't know what the other was doing. I was assigned shifts alone where I didn't know what to do because I wasn't trained to do it. I got 1 or 2 shifts a week. 4 or 5 hours. During this second month, I've received 0 hours. Nothing. No, I'm not fired, it's apparently because of hour cuts. Why would they hire me to THAT department if they weren't in need of a new employee? I was told one of the employees that has been in my department for a year had been receiving only 1 or 2 shifts a week prior to my arrival. I can't even complain about this to the union, as apparently I'm not a part of it untill after the 3 month probation (?). Doesn't make sense to me because they took about 50 - 60$ from me during my first month of working there. Great. I get a shift where I have to close up alone after being trained poorly, a month with no shifts, and I'm short 60$ because the union is helping me. Helping me oh so much.Well, whoopdeefucking doo I guess I'm getting a second job.
I know how you feel. I got hired a month ago and still have not even been trained! Just a boring orientation.
The union hits every new employee with an half ass initiation fee....another reason to fill their pockets. They just love when the company hires more people when there are no hours because they will always collect more Union dues!!! Shame UFCW!!! You suck the big one!
