I have worked for Loblaw for 8 years now and would not recommend them as an employer to anyone. The company pays fair, however, the poisoned work environment and large amounts of stress that often go "unseen" by the company is disturbing. They allow this behavior within almost all stores I have worked at and do little to curb its spread throughout the company.
My close friend has worked at Loblaws for just over 25 years..........she is so fed up with all the unfair changes(that were passed by our Union UFCW 1000A) that she has decided to take the buy out and leave. There goes another hard working employee!!!!
The union has been in the companies back pocket. The company gets away with anything by using the phrase "for the need of the business". A good employee gives 110% the company gives back 0%. You can do extra shifts or go where you would be needed> The company expects that of their employee but they don't give any compassion or understanding to the people.
