I actually started working for the new loblaws just opened up and i would advice that everything may seem good at first..Lots of hours, managers are friendly and acting all nice BUT everything is deceiving.four weeks after the store opened i now have 8 hours from 40 hours and the supervisors are not communicating properly. The blaming starts about how we are providing poor customer service and there are no reasons given to us for the hour cuts.Dunno if these hours are going to go up or down.I thout this job would take me higher but from the way things are beginning stay away from here especially if you really need the money and maybe like the jobs that you get.
Not to many people climb the ladder in this company. The hours were cut because grand opening and Christmas is over. If you are part time there is a 28 hour person and then the hours go down from there. Your right at first everything is great but the true colors come out. The company only thinks of the bottom line "MONEY". With stores that have been open for years the company doesn't treat any of their long time employees with respect. If it weren't for these long time employees the Weston family wouldn't be as rich as they are now. Go get another job and hope that its better than this one.
Sorry to give you more bad news but the cutting of hours will continue into January and February. You probably work at the Gardens or the other new store at Portland...........do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.........you can always use Loblaws on your resume.
