I've worked at Loblaws for 30+ years. I advise my freinds and family to look for work somewhere else. You aren't appreciated. You have no input. It's a top down culture that repeats the same mistakes every five year with each new team of senior managers.

You have nothing good to say about Loblaws yet you have worked there for 30 years??? Either you are lying about how bad it is to work there or you have no self-respect to put up with being treated so badly by your employer... or you are incapable of getting a better job, which is probably the case and therefore you should be thankful Loblaws employs you.

I have been with the company for over 25 years. I agree with rater 249. The company was once upon a time a great caring company. Things has changed in the last 10 years. How can you leave a company when you have invested your pension, shares, benefits. The individual that commented on rater 249 must be a new employee or hired within the last 10 years. You wouldn't have known the difference because you didn't see the good side of the company 20 years ago. Yes the company is employing people, however, moral is at it's all time low. People who have been there a long time are stuck. We have invested many years of service and we are upset as to the negative changes, especially in how we are treated.

I agree with rater 249 as well.

* Either you are lying about how bad it is to work*

You may want to look at the other 200 posts! We'd all have to be lying!

* or you are incapable of getting a better job,*

Have you checked the unemployment rate lately? Is this individual bilingual? The service sector jobs in this country are increasing compared to any real jobs!

* you have worked there for 30 years*

So if he started at 16 lets say this would make him 46. Do you have any idea how difficult it is for someone who has worked in retail to find a job at that age in the economy that we live in now where you have to have a Masters as best to even get a half descent job?

You sound like a *suit*, middle or upper management who has no clue as to what's going on!

Well, you've just been informed honey! ;)

I agree also with rater 249. The first comment as well I feel comes from some teenager who doesn't know any better or management that is showing how they actually feel about who works for them. Once again showing how much they respect their employees.... which is they don't.

I'm a lifer also............I'm now 41 and been with the company 25 years. It used to be a good place to work, good pay, good benefits and time off to have a life.

Now less pay, more hours, less benefits and no consideration for your life.

If you've worked for the company for as long as we have you would know about the sad state of the company from an employee's view.

It doesn't matter what store you are at or in what part of the country you are in we are all dealing with the same issues.

Morale is low, some incompetent managers, union who is in cahoots with the company, time and money spent on paperwork instead of customer service, hours invested for the suits appearances, but not for running, servicing customers, training and cleaning the stores. Repeated procedures\programs that didn't work 20 years ago being implemented as something new only to fail again.

What's with Loblaws always letting go employees at Christmas?? This time at store level, usually it's head office who get it at that time. Merry Christmas and thanks for your 25 years of loyal service...........here's your termination papers.

Oh my how I could go on and on! Believe us............it really is that bad!!
