Has anyone out there changed banners yet? If so does anyone know how the early retirement is handled? How do they figure out what they will offer you as a pension.

Did they not give you all the shiny brochures explaining what all the wonderful offers were? They have a calculation that they use. Ask your union rep. they'll know all about it. Let me just say the company is playing hard ball. So, if you don't exactly and I mean exactly qualify you won't get it. There's no well I'm just a day short, they'll give it to me. It will be a definite "NO!".

Be very careful...........I asked questions on my one-to-one and they could not answer them???? They even contradicted each other (union rep and company HR). The company wants everyone to take the buy down or buy out, remember- you can and should take the "3 month trial" and this will give you more time to see how bad it really is to go to the new banner. The more people who do stay with the old banner , may give us more bargaining power when this contract is up in 3 1/2 years..........wishful thinking..........maybe :(

They did the same with me. I asked my first question in July and they got back to me mid September. HR couldn't answer any questions on the spot. I felt I had no choice I took the buy down. Lost my benifits have to start again. Lost $4 an hour. But, I can't do the hours they want and will probably end up quitting. I hate this company now!
