I joined last year to make some money as a student. If you want to make some money over the summer, avoid Loblaws. The hours were pretty crap, and it's even worse now. Although being able to fit work into my school schedule, you'd be much better off finding something on your campus that looks decent on your resume. The full timers are extremely lazy, we always manage to close half an hour early when it's just part timers doing their share of work. Seriously, you do not know how much I despise closing with a full timer. You get payed 2x as much, it doesn't mean you do 1/2 the work! Now they're wanting to expand our selection and add a bunch of other crap, which means MORE cleaning with LESS employees. The coworkers are pretty cool depending on your department since it's mostly young people. Be prepared to not be trained at all. I've also burned myself many times thanks to their faulty equipment. Thanks for scarring me Loblaws, I'm loving my $10.30 minus huge union dues!
