Do not look into working with this employer as a permanent job that will pay bills unless you are a student and just want to make a few bucks on the side of school. I have worked for Loblaws 5 years and so far this is what has happened. My rate of growth of pay was so slow that min wage beat it. Now im making a little above min wage.I have been limited to only 28 hours, and can never go above 40 even in busy seasons.I am now limited to 24 hours as I have lost seniority because our manager was layed off and they have some rule now that with less employees my seniority is uneffective. They have made adjustments to how long it takes to get benefits in the business so that I had to wait another 2 years longer.I am expected to do many of the tasks which a manager formerly did such as training, advertising special walk in days, and other tasks. This without any increase in wage. They have a whole load of rules as to which days I have to be available to work. So if I want a second job to fill up for the other hours I need it will be difficult. We have had about 4 managers that quit or were layed off.
