As a long term employee (over 20 yrs) I have witnessed the change from a company that cared about their employees and their families to a company that only cares about the all mighty dollar. Morale is at an all time low Loblaws cares not one bit about the fact that the employees have families and a life away from work. I once enjoyed going to work , now I dread going in because there is never any thanks for the work we do or the customers that we help.
you are absolutely right... after 32 years I have never felt so unappreciated and expendable...
WOW... employees who worked for LOBLAWS for over 20 years and 32 years!!! If this company is so bad then why are you there for so long???? Something does not make sense, either you are lying or you have so little self-respect for yourself you will put up with poor working conditions because you believe you cannot do better.
Why do we work there still? When you work for a company for this long and build up your :pension, holidays, and wages you can't simply quit and look for something else! What this company has done is not only screw new employees, but also the long term employees that put this company on the map! So don't tell me "be thankful you have a job", because I am thankful I have a job, and I'm sick of hearing that! I work hard for my wage and I earned what I get and am sick and tired of the guys in head office cutting, cutting cutting!
No one is lying here. It was (past tense) a good company to work for. It no longer is. I would nominate it for one of the worst companies to work for. I can't work weekends because I use the city bus which doesn't run on weekends. I've worked for Loblaws for over 20 years. I was told by HR well, that was a personal choice for me to live where I do and an exemption likely won't be excepted. I will likely have to quit. I hate them!
