This company was great when I started and now is horrible. There is a total and complete disconnect between head office and the stores.

More and more programs are added but NOT one hour is added to make these programs work, and forget training, Loblaws idea of training for any new program usually consists of a supervisor telling the department manager on a conference call or by e-mail how to implement a new program. The department manager is then expected to train their staff WHILE still doing all their own duties. Did I mention that usually no training hours are allotted? The supervisor will tell you "just fit in the training where you can because there are no hours"

As a department manager I am expected to work on the floor with my staff and do all of my own work. As it stands now, if I stay late arrive early and work through my lunch (which I am expected to punch out for even if I'm working through it) I might get my work done. If an employee calls in sick we are not to replace the shift but we still must get all the work done.

We have mystery shoppers and steritech audits and we are humiliated and made to feel stupid and inadequate if we do not do well, and what those powers that be do not seem to comprehend at all, is that we need hours to serve shoppers and keep a department clean.

The stress is horrible, I don't sleep at night and I can hardly drag myself back in to work each day.

The "pencil pushers" at H.O haven't had a clue about working in a store for ages. You have to spend money to make money...........customer service is what we should be providing. It's no wonder our customer count has gone down so much, cut the hours equals no stock on shelves, no staff to service customers and stressed, overwhelmed staff. Stores with bad morale, passing it on to customers.

I'm praying that the new system being rolled out will actually provide us with more hours so that we can serve our customers...........those who've decided to stay with us!

It's "Tell it as it is" time again............why bother, they don't listen!
