I have worked for Loblaws for 7 years now. I have aged 15 or more years from the stressful working conditions. They have new full time positions open but at a 32 hour work week. Also to compensate the insurance they cover, they cut 45 hours in each department taking on a full time employee leaving the people who work there working less hours for triple the work. I need to get out before Loblaws kills me.
After over 3 decades of employment at Loblaws and over 25 years as a department manager, stockholders need to question the upper management. Why so many silly, costly losses due to egos, rather than sound business decisions, resulting in total loss of morale, sound customer service, proper training of employees, outdated and non-functioning equipment. This adds up to a loss of dividends for shareholders and lost money for employees that have to make up the HUGE money losses that have been created by the egos, not sound business decisions made from the IVORY TOWER. The IVORY TOWER insists on having solid oak desks and huge expense accounts. I wonder - DO THEY PAY FOR THEIR GROCERIES? The shareholders have to pay for their groceries.Indecision, rushed programs with no real thought, outlandish stress is the basis of how this company is run, from the Ivory Tower. Sell, SELL what the company wants, not what the customer asks for. Even store managers don't have the proper leadership skills required to instill morale and teamwork. The orders from the Ivory Tower inhibit the employees ability to do their job the right way.Atta boy, Galen!
Agree! No longer shop there or bank there. Why feed the beast? Worked at one of the partner companies-crappy, crappy management. Boy, they love to hire teenagers though don't they. Management never introduces themselves. Store manager (another new one) was so tuned out. How do they pick them?
