I can't believe how they treat their employees like the scum of the earth. They have absolutely no respect for their employees and i find that the management is extremly abusive of their older (age) employees who basically make the departments run. You would think when a company needs to hire people, they would hire internally first and get transfers... nope, they rather have their reliable employees who never call in sick once, and put 100% effort into their job quit rather then take the extra time to put a transfer of departments through, and then look for a replacement. They leave employees broken equipment, and complain when they aren't working fast enough....How are you suppose to handle equipment that is 425 degrees with torn oven mits...wash 60+ large dishes plus many serving utensils in a broken sink and at the same time continue cashing people out and serving people behind a hot food counter. O wait 2 of the 3 ovens are broken, what, they are to expensive to replace, and they can just be repaired every other Friday, O wait we still must produce the same amount of product. Expectations are ridiculous. I would love for the upper management to take a day and come work a day in a entry level employees job.
totally agree that they treat their employees like crap. got a laugh the other day....our store is donating to charity.....but fail to acknowledge that the charity is required in the community because employers like themselves are employing people for wages and hours that place them below the poverty line.....for shame you bastards.
I can relate to all of your comments. Employees having to work with broken equipment, yet having the pressure of maintaining the "standards" that those people in the tower think we should be doing (and you're right - they probably never spent 5 years working in a store)."Charity" is another joke. Years ago, a little league baseball team would approach the store manager for a few dozen hot dogs and buns. Nope, no longer any community donations. Customers are asked (cashiers are forced to do this) for donations to the "Children's Charity". Employees are asked to make weekly donations out of their paycheque to this charity. Guess what ... all the money customers and employees donate ... the corporation gets a tax credit for. Just like when Wal-Mart asks for money for Sick Kid's, and Mark's Work Warehouse is asking for money for prostate cancer ... they're not being community citizens ... they're getting something for themselves. So next time you go to and National Grocers store (No Frills, RCSS, Loblaws, YIG, Zehrs ), be kind to the employees. Direct any frustration to those in the tower.
