I have now worked at two different superstores at two different times. Let me tell you it never gets any better with them, only worse. The first time I was informed after that I was part of union which to me made no sense being that I was a student and taking my paycheque wasn't fair. Third day into training I was fired for having to go to the hospital. I did call them several times to inform them of this and no one answers the phones at customer service, they just ring nonstop. After being fired I found out that have of my cheque went to pay a union that didn't help me at all. Awesome! Now I am working there again in the garden center only because I haven't been able to find any other work. My interview the manager had me waiting over an hour, this is not acceptable by any means. Then he told me the dress code, which I understand every place has a dress code however the superstore located near my house will let you wear any form of black pants, the girls usually wear yoga pants and the guy black jeans. Here I am allowed to wear black dress pants or black shorts which come up 3 inches above my knee. This is just insane if I am working outside all day I'd like to be most comfortable. They also seem to have a problem with they hired me without knowing about my tattoo's, two of which would be covered by my clothes and one which is small enough I could just put a band-aid over it on my wrist. This company wants to dictate your personal life. It is a hell hole. Do not work there.
The fact that you got a TRAMP-STAMP on your body, tells a lot aboutyour social class, your intellectual preparation, your rigor in terms ofthe work you may or may not do, and the diseases you carry. Anyonewearing a TRAMP-STAMP deserves to clean toilets, if they're lucky, andthat's just about all.
Calling tattoos "TRAMP-STAMP" is harsh; however it does limit you in the workplace. As unfair as it may seem we judge each other based on appearances and companies, who you depend on to make a living, have every right hire employees who fit the appearance deemed socially acceptable. Tattoos have yet to be completely socially acceptable. Your tattoos will limit your ability to move up in the corporate world, which is why you probably could not find any other work (your words).I always find it funny when someone with tattoos, which they got to be "cool" and "rebellious", is a whiner. Try owning up to the decisions you made.
