Currently I am a HR Coordinator at an insurance comany and am going to apply for an open HR position at Loblaws that is closer to where I live (Hamilton). After reading so many of these comments I have to say I am quite discouraged to hear what is happening to such a large Canadian comany. I am going to apply anyways as I am expecting to get laid off and my pride tells me to keep working in this field and not to just flounder away on EI but I will say that I desperately hope that conditions have improved or that I can make some kind of difference for at least one store. Only time will tell.....first I think I need to get the job. Good luck everybody.
Don't do it. I worked with many people there (our HR Specialist included) - then they were just "let go" quickly - in silence. Check out the firms with higher ratings on this website - you'll fare better. Don't be fooled by all the smiles and pretty talk when you talk to Loblaws - it's a ruthless uncaring company. You have a caring (and naive) hope you can make an impact ... look at what YOU said ... you were discouraged by the company before you even applied. That should tell you something.
