I am really disappointed that a company that is "all about the customer" can treat its employees like crap. I have seen hardworking people take all kinds of abuse from customers with very little support from anyone at store level. I have been personally verbally abused by a customer while off duty. The customer (as is most customers who holler long and loud enough) was given a gift card "for her troubles" because we didn't have enough trained staffers on the floor and I didn't run to her beck and call, although I had been swiped out for 15 minutes. The company needs to put more effort into showing more appreciation for their employees. Happy employees are productive employees. I wonder if the big boys upstairs realize that the EMPLOYEES are the best customers that the company's got.
It's so true! One of my coworkers was once called a 'bitch' by a customer (btw, this coworker was a 60 year old woman!) and management gave him a gift card! I think the company encourages customers to degrade their staff...after all if you are at a low point, you might not feel positive enough to go out and find a good job.
