Where do I start? I've been an I&R Technician in various departments for 7 years now. Overall in that time, I have been treated exceptionally. The pay and benefits are excellent. My co-workers are outstanding people that I am glad to know; I have witnessed employees go outside their job descriptions and go the extra mile a thousand times to resolve a bad situation for a customer.

The management will constantly be looking for ways to increase gradually your workload. They begin by adding this little task and then another thing and another thing until finally you turn around and look at your workload as compared to let's say a couple of years back and then you realize that your workload almost tripled. The hipocracy of the management is flagrant. This employer has a...

Telus is a joke for an employer. All bargaining unit union employees are required to take annual ethics training and to act ethically all the times. But most managers are disrespectful, violent, and behave like complete and total jerks. The managers don't follow these same policies. I worked for Telus for a short period of time, and it was apparent that I wasn't going to fit in with their corporate culture - not because I couldn't cut the mustard, so to speak, but because I really had no use in passive-aggressiveness, nor in coded language and games. I liked working for Telus and really enjoyed my coworkers. It has reinvented itself as an innovative company and it respects its employees. There are some major problems within the company which obviously haven't been addressed. As with any large corporation, there is a breakdown at many levels. I generally think they do a great job at hiring and promoting the right people (in Calgary).

It was a proud moment for me in 2002 when TELUS was voted one of the ten best employers to work for in Canada. Since then, there was an imposed contract on its employees, a lockout which lasted four months, and a hostile work environment created for those who did not cross the picket line. Some employees who did not cross are now discriminated against, harassed, and intimidated by their...

Telus is a horrible place to work. I was off due to a work related injury, and came back still with some disability. My manager told me that I'm not performing up to department standard, and that I need to go home sick (without pay) or quit. I asked multiple times for assistance on getting up to standard, with no response. They treat their customers like sh*t.

Ive been working for TELUS for over a year now, and can truly say, its one of the best companies to work for if not the best. The amazing culture is second to none. Life work balance is not just cliché, they walk the talk!!! I dont think I can ever find a better employer especially in the telecom industry. I do think there is some room for development on the employee career advancement and...

For a company thats been around as long as it has its got a long way to go. Poor communication about benefits, which incidently are pretty good. You have to basically find out yourself what benefits you qualify for.Training leaves a lot to be desired. Wages are pretty good in today's competitive market. Decent profit sharing and share purchase plan. Not a lot of chances for advancement. Telus has...

Amazing company to work for. Been there 4+ years ... only one qualm. Work harder, doesn't mean your salary gets bigger. Recognition should include your salary increases, the raises suck! I truly believe I, and others I know are worth more then we're paid.

I have been with TELUS for only a year and have had a much better experience than my previous 3 employers (two of which were rated as one of the top 20 places to work in Canada). TELUS has been extremely forward with their vision from the start, and has stuck true to everything they've said they would from an employee perspective as well as from a consumer perspective. It's great to work for a...

I loved my time at TELUS. Sure there were hard days, but those were far and few between. It really adheres to it's corporate values and you can see it echo in a lot of the things we do.

Telus is simply at the top of the pack. Sure some may complain about "Corporate structure" etc.... they are in the wrong job. Corporations have similar features but the way Telus treats it's employees is second to none. Growth & opportunity is there. If you work there & have issues then maybe you should move on, once you work for other companies you will see the difference that Telus makes. ...

Apart from some executive management shortcomings, the work that TELUS does and the opportunities it gives employees to really stretch their "muscles" (i.e. brains) is above par. I would recommend this employer to anyone. Just be aware, it is a bureaucracy and some upper management executives do get hired/promoted based on nepotism rather than skills. But that's everywhere really.

Unfortunately, this company's stated values do NOT reflect how it conducts business in the real world. While charging extrordinary prices for the services it provides, it is eroding the Canadian economy by offshore sourcing for it's employees and contractors. IF this company survives, the only employees left in Canada will be the CEO and Board of Directors!

I am happy with working @ TELUS as it is a great company and has excellent core values, BUT I do find some flaws in the way things are done. My main concern is that management is not very diligent in the development of their team members. I do not enjoy my position, but am worried that I will be in it for quite some time as I have no pro-active support from my Mgr to help me move on. There are...

This company has been bungled by mismanagement. It's simply because of inordinately high cellular costs that the company stays afloat. Once foreign management enters the market TELUS will be a has-been company. They can only rest on their laurels for so long, leeching off of the canadian public.

TELUS has a great vision and strategy... what they need is middle management that's visible, accountable, and provides the quality support and direction to front line management. Too frequently front line management is expected to drive the strategy, but is not provided with the soft skills and coaching/feedback to fully realize the goal and support the employees.
