Ok, here is my view:

Working at LD is not necessarily a bad company to work for, it is probably still the best retail Company to work for. But that is just it! RETAIL!!! YIKES. I would not recommend making a career out of it. The pay will get you to about $19.00 but it will take about 12 to 15 years to get there. The start pay is just slightly over minimum wage. The company has expanded hugely...

Serious decline in the last several years. The bullying probably starts at the top, then the district managers bully the department and store managers to cut payroll down to nothing with no regard for customer service or employee stress levels let alone the employees ability to make a living. The management uses bullying tactics. They are total upsellers to the point of scaring their customers. This is the absolute worst company I have ever work for.

They treat the staff like second class citizens. Almost no chance of fulltime hours unless you go in to management, and if you do they will constantly move you around to different locations. Head office is always micro managing to the extreme. Some departments only run 2 people per day which means quite often no breaks until you have been there for 5 sometimes 6 hours. Benefit cuts are usually due to over abuse; example like employees that take advantage of sicks days to the fullest. If the company allows them 2 weeks, they will take two weeks even if their are not sick. Their mentality is that I'm entitled to it, because I paid for it.
