Good people work for this company,...unfortunately there is too much pressure from higher up that put way too much emphasis on saving money instead of looking at what needs to be done and what would help in the long run.

I quit because it was a negative environment, my work was suffering.

A guy who came later, he was promoted before me. Not that I minded about that, but their behaviour was just so crappy. You can be a good leader without being a you know what about it.

I was given less duties, then more duties, then less, whatever. I started to shut off. I'm not listening to someone who can't respect...

I worked at the Innes Road location in Ottawa ON and it was pretty questionable at times. Most of the problems were related to head office in one way or another though. For example, to increase our items per minute for cashiers they had us ring ALL the cutomer's items thorugh and THEN bag them. This resulted in a lot more strain on my arms and hands because I didn't get to put the items down into...

It's a shame. A company that was once great now loses it's lustre. The ship has become cold and work for it's crew is double what it used to be due to hourly cutbacks. Many of the crew and their supervisors are jumping overboard. The ship feels as if it is more concerned with following Wal-Mart's wake rather than making it's own waves as a unique chain of stores.

Real Canadian Superstore is a fairly good place to start working when you are entering the job force. Though the management in my section are currently fighting to get rid of someone making it a very stressful place to come and work. Before this it was a fairly good place to work, though there isn't much chance for advancement.
