I worked at Future Shop for two years, you know what they gave me? .50 cent raise, .25 cent per year. Nice one Future Shop. The management was horrible. Forget about the earnings and job advancement aspect of this company. We have to focus on the fundamentals.

The bottom line is this company sells electronic goods/gadgets.

I have worked for FS for more than 2 years, and I can safely say, it was not worth it in the end.

Not a horrible company. However, sales associates use to make a respectable income. The company has reduced commission so significantly that it is now just another $10.25 job. You can go to Mcdonald's, Walmart or any other retail store and have much less pressure. Not worth the hassle.

The employees are basically pressured by management to sell items to customer and they will go as far as lying to the customers. The management and workers in my store are great it's a very close group of people compared to other larger corporations I've worked for. The management knows everyone by name and are open to talk about any problems that you may have. The only measure of success at Future Shop is how many extended warranties and setups do you sell. You can't really sell as many as they want without lying to customers.

The concept of "subsidy" aka minimum hourly wage and beating the subsidy is plain ridiculous. The other employers pay you base salary plus commission.

Other than the benefit of good staff purchases, I wouldn't recommend anyone work for this company, all the cons outweigh it by far.

Horrible Company to work for. Used to be really good to its people but changed their philosophy about a year back. The staff that work for Futureshop now mean little or nothing to in store management and above. Unrealistic goals followed with constant negative feedback create large amounts of stress.

This Company has basically pushed me out after being with them for 5 years and GIVING MY ALL. They do not appreciate you as a person, so why would they even appreciate you as a salesperson? They make u lie to every single customer just so you can make "the numbers"

Interesting how the positive ratings on this page all seem to be from either the sales or management and all of the negatives seem to be operations employees.

Just goes to show that Future Shop has no idea how to compensate and understand the employees who work under the highest stress levels in the store, with job descriptions that are seldom adhered to.

I had been with future shop for a few years before I noticed a trend where employee's would speak up about issues with management then shortly after they would get fired for unknown reasons. These people ranged from Sales associates 1month in to supervisors that had been with the company many years. Reading the only comment on this employer thus far brought back old memories for me. I worked for FS back in the mid 1990's. I see that not much has changed. Over promising and under delivering with regards to career potential was the practice then as it seems to be now! I stayed one year, left and quite frankly, never looked back.
