You don't undestand. Convergys wants people to quit so that they can hire newbies at minimum wage. They grade your work as follows: excellent, mediocrity, misery. Many quit immediately. I worked for this company 12 years ago at one of their two callcenters in Ottawa and it was the worst place I've ever worked. From what I can see in the reviews now nothing has changed so I will share some feedback since it is obviously still relevant. Convergys new glasgow is a sick workplace with many

Issues in poor management. Bullying is supreme from the top down. If you want to stay well try it at your own risk. It changes after you begin working there and they have a swinging door policy at convergys new glasgow.

I only worked here for three months and found it the worst job ever. The training was bearable at best, the instructor's left a lot to be desired, unprepared and self serving to the point that the instructor brought out his own guitar to sow us how good he was... This is a 3rd world company operating in a 1st world environment. Poor management skills- Targets employees unfairly and have a poor disregard for humans. I worked in the welland location for about a yr and a half. You know its bad when you drink daily on the job, and your team leader is so understanding that you are offered breathmints and a seat further away from the revolving doors so that you can continue to drink, more inconspicuously. cheers to anyone who survived employment at convergence without developing an alcohol dependency.

I must also say this is the worst job I ever had, the training class is far to long for the job you actually have to do, and being yelled at all day for long hours isn't very relaxing. If you are new you get the worst shift mine was 3-12pm, didn't leave much time for any social life or family life.

I would say, as a call center Convergys is awesome. I am working about a year. I found it is structured. I found myself valued. I found managers and HR are helpful. Obviously it is better than a lot of call centers.

The agents are not given the care they deserve. Management should be rated very frequently by agents, possibly on a monthly basis, and this would resolve some of the issues. Avoid this company unless you are desperate.

Having over 2000 employee's and only 700 work spaces is quite an acomplishment! The work "floor" is filthy, stained carpets, floors, mold around the water dispensers etc. There were even fleas and mites at one point!

I worked at the Dartmouth,Ns Location, I lasted 3 years. The center is made up of 2 projects (CBW and At&t;). Sadly, I wouldnt recommend this job for anyone. I have just started working at Convergys... I find that there is quite low morale, alot of rumours of downsizing and that many of the managers tend to "espouse" a company line without much thought to what they are really saying so it comes across as dissingenous.
