Highly political! If you can play the game right, you can do less work and get very good recognition from others. If you don't play along with the game, people will step on you to move up

I have worked in two EY offices and had very different experiences. One office was just horrible -- bad corporate culture, crazy stress, unfriendly people. The other office was the polar opposite with great people and slightly better work life balance. My overall experience is mediocre. Although I love the people and the culture in the second office, at the end of the day, I am still overworked...

Overall, not a bad firm to launch your career. You get to know a lot of smart folks. Business model and value were great... only when the economy was great. As the industry is getting more difficult, people weren't always put first. Difficult to reschedule your engagements. Low salary and bonus don't compensate for the amount of hours you put in and quality of the training you received....

i've been here for 2 years and its rates as one of the better places that i have worked at. Try it.

One's experience at EY is dependent on the role and the manager. With a good manager (quite rare these days), a professional can have a very rewarding experience. With the more common poor manager, one's professional experience is slave to the manager's whims. So be it.

The best accounting firm on Bay St. Clearly they have vision and a direction in mind and the leadership is very focused on getting to those goals. Great working environment along with perks to make the career more memorable.

I work in the IT department, it is not client-serving. They do retain a lot of employees, but they are not necessarily good for their positions, some of them just have more seniority in the company.

Benefits are AWESOME!! Had to leave for other reasons. Overall I'd say it's a good job if you start in the business. Nothing more. Schedule are awful and you have no chance of having it changed because schedules are made in Calgary by other people. You never know from week-to-week if you'll work overnight or during the day.

Beware of the five and four star reviews, I'm pretty sure they had the HR department and recruiters come in and put up all the positive reviews. Don't be deceived, this is just another big four auditing firm...and certainly not the best of them either.

Employer who respect ideas...if you think like everybody else ! Very good profesionnals that believe in this employer. Well located. A bit conservative. Compensation and benefits are ok.

Definitely not a good place to work.. too much office politics and advancement based on favoritism. Questionable morals among partners and managers (i.e. turning a blind eye to employees being overworked and under reporting their hours to meet budget...) Everyone seems nice but beware the dog eat dog like atmosphere.. On paper, lots of good benefits such as summer hours, socials etc but what...

I've worked for them for 25 years and have seen many changes, almost always for the better. It is a great firm and I could not think of a better place to get your training as a student.

I was not pleased at the lack of integrity this organization displayed in its' lack of professionalism in terminating employees. A relative of mine was "let go" without any warning or negative performance review after almost one year. Literally on the same day was given the news and emptied his desk. This is a person with exemplery work habits and terrific recognition outside the organization.

EY is a great place to work, especially if you are just starting off. By far the best of the Big Four.

Good firm to work for. The only problem is complete incompetents continue to get promoted as advancement is time based...not merit based.

I've worked for the 5 biggest firms in the world but EY is the best! Great people, great work, and they really make you feel important within the company. Always provide support financially and otherwise for your life outside of work. And they do small things that make you feel like you are valued as an employee. Work for them!
