Will not make you feel valued as an employee. Make people feel disposable. Under paid and over worked is the main point with this company. Would not recommend this place for a career.

Honestly, I've read these comments, and I guess it depends which location you work for.

I absolutely adore going to work and I've worked there for 4 years (no, i'm not from head office haha). My co-workers and customers are a major reason why I enjoy it. The company itself has definitely taken a pitfall, but that doesn't mean it's not a bad job. Yes, it's competitive, but you need to work for...

I have worked for the company for a year and had a transfer to a different location hoping my few on the company would change. They have not. The company only cares about paying you as little as possible over working you and best of all no raises. As you are on comission. You are told regularly that you only value to the company is how much you can make for the company, nothing else.

i don't even want to know how downhill it's gotten! when I started working there over ten years ago, it was a hip spot with a rad commission structure and super cheap and fun fashion. then they got greedy, shifted around "commission" and started trying to be more upscale by charging more for heinous clothing. i quit after finishing university. thank god it was just a part-time job for me. i can't...

I just started and am already looking to leave. what a waste of time.. such unfair compensation considering the amount of work you have to do (they understaff their stores.. leaving you and one other person to do stock, merchandise, security, cash handling, customer service, and cleaning duties in a busy store)

I was with this company for 7 years. Started with lots of promises that were quickly broken. The pay versus what they expect from an employee is ridiculous. Terrible communication from head office to the stores. Since the company is having problems they expect us to do more with less hours. Then they send out an email celebrating how much they are saving from over working their employees,...

If I had only own about this website I would not have wasted my time working for such a disorganized company thats pay structure is broken promises and people are hired off f the streets or something. If you want to sell higher end, please hire experienced sales people that are older than 16.

Sad to say, the company is not doing so well as it used to. It was a great place to work, when I first started five years ago in the number one store in the company. But things are very different now. They have inexperienced managers and every day they make and break new rules and very poor communication. The reason why I quit is because, I am not making any money there anymore (the company has...

Worked at Le Chateau on Vancouver Island for 6 months. Went from part-time style specialist to full-time keyholder and also handled the entire Menswear side of the store. Seemed decent at first until I realized just how their commission structure works. You don't get your hourly wage + commission. They do the math and if your commission amount is greater than what you'd get paid hourly, you just...

In the short time I worked at this corporation, I had experienced so much frustration for a number of reasons: work environment, overtime and poor wages. It doesn't matter how hard you work, or how much you want to grow-it will be unlikely that you are given the opportunity. Management plays favourites, which makes for a very unprofessional environment. Many of the hires are not qualified for the...

The management and human resources are ridiculous. They have a very negative atmosphere. They expect you to sell so much money and finish a million tasks a day at the same time, if you don't do both of these things than they make you feel guilty. Le Chateau is a terrific employer to work for. The commission structure is terrific and quite lucrative if you sell with the GUEST model in mind. now and then I would see staff members in my workplace who weren't particularly interested in helping customers or were too uncomfortable with sales to do it properly. First of all they are extremely slow to make a decision so they keep you waiting for weeks on as if you dont have other offers to consider besides them. Le Chateau takes every available opportunity to keep money from customers and employers.
