After 7 years of working at RBC, I would agree that there are major problems on the horizon for RBC as they allow office politic drive their branches.

If they are offering a sales position stay far away. Lot's of promises with very little training or follow through. Focus is on micro managment and not sales. Also be perpared to make just above minium wage for your career span.

I have worked for RBC for 18 years, and have seen significant changes in the overall organization over the years, but none have been as disappointing as the changes in work culture over the last 2-3 years.

With it's "client first" initative, RBC has neglected to add additional resources (ie...staff & adequate training) to put up against this. More & more work is put upon us and the expectations...

Been a great company to work for. Management has recognized my strengths and constructively advised me on how to improve my weaknesses. Management has been encouraging and is helping me to obtain my long term career goals. Branch I work in is a great team and I actually have fun at work.

Working at head office, it was obvious that a huge change is needed. Many roles have new people in them now, but many more need to change to make it a great place to work. Too many people have been there too long and are intrenched in jobs they don't do well any more. You have to like working for a bank - it's not for everyone.

The one thing that will kill the moral spirit of any RBC employee is competence. When performing well, you are overwrought with work which should be given to other people, which obviously can be fairly stressful. Also, once performing well, internal advancement is almost impossible because RBC would rather stifle their employees until they do to TD than recognize the potential and reward them...

Overall, a good company to work for. They seem to frown on career advancement upward. Once they have you in a role and are performing, they don't want to let you go.

After having spent almost 13 years at another large bank, I find working at RBC amazing. Despite the large size and huge number of employees, the teamwork is great, politics are relatively negligable, and the focus on corporate goals and culture outstanding. I constantly tell friends and family that this is a great place to work, not like the sterotype of a "Big Bank" at all. That being said the...

Good company to work for overall. The training is great, and the atmosphere and support are excellent (although i can imagine that this could vary from branch to branch). As for vision for the future, i feel rbc has this mentality that it is the biggest and best bank, and therefor they seem to be stagnating when it comes to being pro-active with innovative ideas. Criteria for advancement is a...

RBC Insurance in Calgary is growing fat, and is a great place to work. We have a flexible schedule and unlimited earning potential is insurance sales, backed by the most respect financial company in Canada. Also, RBC provides all the support in training, laptops, pension plan and benefits as part of the package. A great formlua for success.

Let's just say that management is really important, and a bad centre manager can take away from the total experience of your working at RBC. Also, proper organization of new employee orientation and detailed training would be helpful if they expect their employees to work effectively. RBC needs to provide more incentive to increase the happiness of their employees to create more productivity in...

Salary is on the below-average to average mark for the retail banking side. Advancement is segregative and somewhat discriminatory. Benefit is average, nothing special since you have to pay for everything yourself anyway. The ones that love working for the bank so much is just people who don't really have any solid educational background to explore their options. Job stability is good since...

I have worked for RBC for 2 years it is a good company to work for, but there is always room for improvement. They do compensate their employees with alot of benefits, but the base salary ranges could be better depending on your position and responsibilities. They also need to work on retaining their employees but utilizing their skills rather than outsourcing for positions.
