Rogers as a company to work for is a great opportunity. Much can be learned about their technology which is provided by their numerous training classes. Depending on the retail location your perception may vary.
Rogers is one of the top employers in Canada today, due to the excellent benefits and availability of career options. This is the reason that morale is high here and employee retention is so good.
I work in the Burnaby call center and the environment is extremely toxic, mass amounts of ppl are on stress leave and if they are not on stress leave they are heavily medicated. Management is useless and could careless about work life balance it is all about what the company wants - screw the employee. Forced overtime for all - and a suck it up or leave attitude - curious how they would feel...
lol OK OK OKYOU GUYS HAVE TO READ THIS............I just cracked the code. I never thought Rogers cared about this siteLOL this is funny..I FOUND ALOT OF THESE BUT ONLY COULD PUT A FEW....... PRESS CTRL + F and try this...."Posted by Rater396 on 11.21.2012"" SOLID PLACE TO WORK"REPEATS.. "Posted by Rater128 on 03.30.2009"" SOLID PLACE TO WORK"...
Solid place to work. Great culture, they empower their employees to make decisions, and you feel like you make a difference. I highly recommend a Career at Rogers.
Good pay and excellent benefits. You also have the ability to move up and a fast pace. You also have the option to transfer to a different job if you are unhappy. The coworkers and supervisors are very helpful and will teach you all the skills you will need to be successful at this job.
One of the worst companies to work for, it depends on the dept you are working in as another rater said, but has gone from bad to worse to worst!!! management has turned into sharks waiting to attack, shows how comfortable they are in their roles and skins, feel sorry for each and everyone who works there, glad my torture ended!!!
It was great company to work for until Ted Rogers stopped being in charge. Since then people on management postions quite often with little knowledge of technology are dominating the workplace, people with technical skills engineers, programmers who are not interested in mnagerial positions are treated like dirt.
I cannot believe these shysters are in business. The 5 star ratings on this site must be the senior managers inputting in order to try to deflect some of the real criticisms expressed. Actually, very laughable if you are an employee. I give them a 1 star rating which is too generous. The benefits we receive are fully funded by the employees meager salaries which equals even less net pay for an...
An excellent company to work for, with great benefits, perks, and room for advancement. Those who complain most probably don't put in the time and effort required to move up.
Absolutely the worst. In nearly 13 years it has gone from okay at best to bottom of the barrel.Absolutely ALL ABOUT #'s and absolutely NO CONCERN for work/life balance. Weekends off?? Forget it, If you do get them, you have to work some crazy later shift. Most people have families and want to spend time with them.Management is the absolute worst. Micromanaging 101. They absolutely LOVE...
Fantastic group of people to work with. I wouldnt work anywhere else. Ill be there until I retire. Great Benefits. in 20 years i have worked at 7 different locations for Rogers. Five stars all the way for Rogers!!
worst company ever
I loved my manager when I worked there. He was an amazing guy, always willing to train, help and work with team members/answer any questions we have. The HR person in the Kitchener office however totally different story. She ACTUALLY made me cry several times. She kept telling me I was CONSTANTLY doing something wrong while I was in training. When I went out onto the floor my manager gave me...
The reason why I am here is because I want to let you know the TRUTH about this company. The acts of Rogers Communications and it Management team is disrespectful! You are treated like dirt on the bottom of shoes, you will be walked all over. You are expected to be a miracle worker and take abuse with a smile on your face.I was originally hired for customer care cable JUST cable... Without...
Very greedy company!
I worked for this company for 18 years. For the first 16 yrs I loved the job and the company and got glowing yearly reviews. One bad manager and and one bad review and I was "downsized" along with many other long-time employees in 2008. The last 1.5 years at Rogers were terrible. I had a bully for a manager. I still hear stories from former co-workers that this manager has her staff in...
Five stars all the way for Rogers. Teamwork was huge in my department, communication with supervisors and team members was frequent enough to make me feel connected to what was going on, plus the training was detailed enough to help me do my job well. Highly recommended.
I have seen it all 30 plus years, Ted had visions, today upper management sees dollars only bottom line is all they look at.Directors and their managers only know how to micro manage. No respect for their front line employeesNo just more workI just work there gave up on pride a few years backTasks do not match my abilitiesteamwork your on your ownbenefits suck loosing more every...
Rogers is exhausting and stressfull... They push you to do there dirty work and don't pay you enough to do it.. The management is a joke... They lack knowledge, education, and half of them don't do anything but go out for smokes (together and leave everyone with no support) and talk... The organization is anything but organized.. I can't believe it can actually sustain itself with the archaic...
Unfprofessional; money hungry; unreasonable
How do you explain the terrible management at rogers considering they are a well known company? What happened to hiring managers with qualifications? What happened to hiring managers with people skills and education? Working at rogers is for bottom feeders.
I had a manager that was probably bi-polar. Loved my job but had to leave because of him. I addressed HR and tried to address head office but everyone seemed to be looking the other way. He came in after my department did and created havoc and destroyed the team. His manager was in Toronto and didnt care to see what was happening as long as the results were there. He was a bully, was...
Rogers is terrible. I have been with them for 3 years and every month Rogers was charging me high rate of long distance phone service. I got tired and transfer my phone to Vonage for 60 percent less for monthly charge. They got pissed off and reported me in the credit Bureau as 30 days late for the charge of their phone device that they hooked it up 3 years ago in my basement, I was not aware...
Rogers talk about how dedicated they are to being innovative.... Good luck trying to sell these products to the customers who cannot afford it. Also the blood and sweat of the poor employees who make all this happen with no thanks from Senior Managers and Directors is applauding!!Yes I said it. Directors and VPs who have to Idea what the hell they are doing. They are all a bunch of White collar...
Very stressful and negative atmosphere. Very disorganized. Their motto at the Nova Scotia retail stores is AML Cares, it even says so on the website....AML Cares MY ASS !!!The only thing they care about is sales numbers, and if you don't make your numbers, you are good as gone !!!!!!The owner is an obsessive compulsive micromanagement freak, and considers employees "a dime a dozen"....no...
I'm about to accept an offer. I'm still undecided . . . whether to go ahead or not. I need to decide today itself though.I've reviewed all the comments and not too sure about the decision I need to take.Any advice?
Rogers is a good company if you work for the right department. Some department like the one I currently work for work you death and treat like a child who needs to be monitored 24/7 with preference given to the ones how kiss ass. Managers behaves like they own you. Money is spent on projects that cost millions of dollars that never comes to life and to cover the cost they layoff employees. Very...
I currently work for this company and after a long day I decided to take the time to come and let everyone know what this company is about. They have by far the best traning program I haver had(call center clerk). Very friendly environement. Now lets talk about going to work. At first going to work was actually great because you were proud to actually work for them as they do want to give the...
I was indifferent to the company. Honestly, the work was not bad compared to other jobs out there. Compensation was fair. Training was decent. Benefits were good. But this is where it all goes downhill. Work life balance is non-existant. Stress levels are through the roof. Management has no clue what is happening. My indifference of the company changed to utter disgust because of the incompetance...
I worked there for 9 years. They say "Respect and Dignity" is their model. But never felt respected or dignified in anyway. The internal politics will get into your personal life and they will judge you on it. I was finally let go for standing up for my self and was billed thousands for (as they call it) "Over payment of wages. I believed in the company and worked hard for them. But they burned...
Has anyone with a critical illness been terminated without cause?
Not much to see here folks. Just another downward spiral. Lip service + poor management= no results!
As someone who was just let go after 10 years with Rogers I still have to say it was an amazing job. I looked forward to going in everyday and even pulling 12 hour shifts. The training was amazing (guess it depends on whos training you), advancemant ops are everywhere, benefits/pay/ commission all way above par compared to other companies. Yes, they have and are going through some changes but...
Hopeless!!!Hopeless!!!Hopeless!!!
worst of the worst!!worst of the worst!!worst of the worst!!worst of the worst!!worst of the worst!!worst of the worst!!worst of the worst!!worst of the worst!!worst of the worst!!
Internally, it is a very very disorganized company with hardly any communication (both vertically and horizontally). While management will give lip service and say they are interested in improving iternal processes and making things more efficient, it is hardly ever followed up with the required action in a timely manner due to a combination of politics/incompetency on part of management. New...
worst worst worst company ever, all they care about is profits... they don't care about their employees or their customers. Terrible company!
Where do I start? I've been working at a Rogers Retail Store for about 7 months now. They start you off with MINIMAL TRAINING! Basically what happens is you're taught things once and then thrown on the floor. You're then told to ask your colleagues for help if you have a question, but no one is ever available because they've got their own problems to solve. No official training of products or...
been here almost from the very start Ted saw the company as a large family, todays managers totally suck with many lacking communication skills and being afraid of there directors,i do 3 time the work today
way too much politics that prevents you from advance in career. have to kiss the ass of managers to be able stay...Tod would be embarrassed to see what happened with the company...
worked for 20 years used to be a fantastic place to work would get 5 stars on everything .Ted payed good money even when Rogers was billions in debt. After he died the Company he built died with him.Now its just the bottom line trying to get people working for free no respect at all.Stay away would be better off pumping gas for a living.
Just wanted to add my star rating. Was a WAY better place to work before 2010. Not quite 10yrs and it's time to move on. You never know when the constant cut backs will include you. Wish me luck!
As a recent employee, I have never seen a place this disorganized - does Rogers just hire people off the street with the hopes that they can somehow 'do' a job by the seat of their pants? You shouldn't have to wonder why this place is falling behind its competitors as per the media reports; its a lack of respect for people and a gross inadequacy of sound management skills. Yes, you should work...
Stay farrrrrr away or you'll be running later. This place is horrible!!! Management sucks, they have no clue as to current things going on. Work life balance is non exsistent. You can't sneeze without them calling you at home to make sure your showing up for work in the filthy mouse/rat infested call center.. Did Rogers ever stop to think the disgusting dirty environment is what is making their...
Im not one to rate ex employers but I feel it my duty to share my distasteful work experience at Rogers. I worked for 3 years in a high profile, high demand department and it was completely a waste of my time. Rogers does not respect employees and they deem workers as disposable resources. Further, management adopts this call center style management thinking that even in the higher levels of...
If you consider yourself as an ant, Rogers is the place for you. Working for Rogers is as good as a piece of dirt. Honestly, that's what you are to the company. Before Ted Rogers passes, Rogers was a very nice place to work, but it's horrible since then. No respect to employee, contradicting policies are pushed weekly and sometimes daily. Spending more than 8 minutes per call to sincerely help...
So here's the thing. Benefits are excellent. Pay is good. Discounts on services good. Advancement is near zero. Some managers are good...most are bad. Remember...this is still a private company so they can do what they want to you and they often do. I've witnessed many times people being promoted not because they were the best fit but because they were in with the right managers or directors....
Rogers views employees only as bottom line attributes, to be hired and fired to reach record profits only, with consideration only to managers and up. (They are currently firing managers, but they are managers with no underlings, take it from there).
All the positive rating here are 90% rated by Rogers' special department. This is the worst company that I have ever worked for. Hired as a bilingual rep 6 months ago and I am still not taking any calls with second language. Training is ridiculous long. And what you have been trained in the class is sometimes contradictorily not the rule on the floor. Pay is just soso but the stress level is...
I like working for Rogers no complaints other that in order to get the 50% employee discount you have to work min of 20hrs/week (part time) well thats all good and dandy but when if your manager doesn't feel like scheduling you at least 20hrs a week. Doesn't see fair that the employee should suffer just because the manager doesnt schedule them at least 20hrs.
Huge company, with steady work and lots of different career options available. Very secure, with excellent benefits and employee discounts available.
I have been working at Rogers for 11 months now and I have to say that I love it! The people are amazing and the managers really listen to your questions/concerns. I look forward to moving up within the organization. Currently Rogers is the best employeer I have ever worked for. Since 1999 I have wored for 6 different companies. I look forward to a very positive career with Rogers!
All the positive ratings are a sham , Rogers by far is one of the worst places I have ever worked for , the have to values for their employees and they expect u yTo treat customers with respect when the managers don't even know how to respect their team it's a doubled standard , for any one considering employment at Rogers stay away and have your soul !!
Group RRSP, 90% Health/Dental, 50% off all Rogers services, stock options, commission, cash bonuses and weekly prize giveaways (e.g. TVs, ipods, etc.), continuous training, access to internal job postings.
Fantastic group of people to work with. I wouldnt work anywhere else. Ill be there until I retire. Great Benefits. In over 23 years i have worked at 7 different locations for Rogers. Brampton Park is wonderful.
It really all depends on where you end up in the company. Some departments and groups are great, some managers are terrific... others are worse than your worst nightmare. Ultimately, it is a great career stepping stone, so if you're a professional I'd recommend spending a couple of years at Rogers if you get the chance. In terms of executive decision making though - count on them to make the...
Great experience working here at Rogers. Working with hard-working and fun teams in an exciting industry. Performance is rewarded with good compensation and great career development paths.
you are just a number at rogers since Ted rogers died the company does not care about its employees. since they have more competion now they are really finding ways to get rid of people. as long as you are a cut throat you can do well there. managemnet is so very in consistent. what one manager will repremand you for another will look the other way. some staff who get rewarded do not deserv to be...
Excellent company to work for, with a great salary, great benefits, and lots of opportunity for advancement.
Worked in Rogers for 5 years. The only reason i stayed for so long was that i lived very close to the office.I have to rate it as one of the worst organisations to work for , if u are looking for growth opportunities , creativity and training. If u like reporting to managers who think they are higher than gods , with no managerial skills and like to call everyone reporting to them scrum...
Working for Rogers was a very positive experience. Fun products to work with (Digital Cable, High Speed Internet), decent managers, mostly positive vibes.
Strong connections with coworkers, excellent benefits package, opportunities are accessible and performance goals are realistic, pay is better then most.
- Some really good people- An interesting place to work if you don't mind working in an industry that is changing rapidly and radically- It's possible to do new things and learn new skills- It can be good to have Rogers on your resume- Excellent benefits (Group RRSP, 90% Health/Dental, 50% off all Rogers services)
Good benefits, I have advanced pretty fast and the company didn't hold me back. I had an offer from a different company, Rogers interested me in staying. I am not planning to leave this company any time soon.
Absolutely cancerous environment. Hope you don't work in engineering or ops. Morale is non existent. You can't believe anything your told.
The people, some of the benefits and the atmosphere are the best reason to work for the company. The company has a great mentorship program that is available at all levels of participation. It could be a bit more structured, but I think that as the program grows, more will come out of it. The atmosphere is very innovative and the people working there are willing to take on the challenges and...
Increased competition in the market has shown how Rogers is unprepared to respond. Management at the VP level is focused upwards internally versus solving problems on overall competitiveness issues.
Family oriented and worker friendly environment. Whenever i need time off of work for family issues and personal issues i am able to take time off without it effecting my job or performance. They are very focused on employee satisfaction and are concerned bout the well being of thier staff.
Many opportunities & exciting projects in new technology deployment.Great co-workers and managers.Managers activly assist with career development.Diverse work enviroment.
Rogers can be soo much better. Management are not very engaged, employment opportunities are very limited in Montreal. Customer satisfaction is not even close to what the minimum should be
Stands out as one of the best employers around these days. Doing well financially, and able to bring on new staff constantly, unlike many other organizations which are laying off. Salary and benefits are very goods, along with good working conditions.
I don't want to knock any of the positive reviews on this site. But I find it very odd that there's a lot of positive feedback on such a horrible place to work. Rogers is one of the most disorganized companies I've ever had to deal with/work for. A lot of the management have hidden agendas and will promote you or hold you back based on personal interest. What's even worse is that management don't...
Great benefit package including a stock purchase plan and health/dentalGreat pension (hard to find these days)Interesting deals from other companies available to employees due to the size of the company (Apple EPP, discounts on car rentals, etc.)
they dont stand by their own motto.say one thing and do another
Great pension (hard to find these days). Interesting deals from other companies available to employees due to the size of the company (Apple EPP, discounts on car rentals, etc.). Large online training system available.
Spent five years in Rogers Retail working from a customer sales agent to manager. It all depends on your area manager, your boss. There are several who are excellent. Unfortunately, most aren't and are only there to prove themselves, usually by chopping and burning things to a minimum in order to squeak out an extra dime [it IS all about the stockholders, after all].When I began my area...
An excellent company to work for, as long as you show a willingness to work for advancement they will work with you to ensure it occurs. Generally high degree of employee satisfaction here.
There really is no worse place to work in Canada than Rogers. Can't think of anything positive to say. Perhaps they are excellent at positioning (lying, they call it positioning) Absolutely no integrity in this company. Ted Rogers would be so ashamed of what became of his company.
Worked in the Edmonton east stores. (...). The pay is horrible. The scheduling is horrible. The training is ridiculous and many of the people I worked with were sychophants who stabbed backs to get ahead. Highest employee turnover rate I've ever seen. Working there was the worst idea ever. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this company or the people running it.
I have worked at Rogers for more than 7 years. Occupied different positions throughout differnt lines of business (retail store, call centre, head office, etc) and have found the company to be great on several levels. By reading the different comments I think people need to realize the difference between the company ethics, and the one single team manager that can be a pain. There is definite...
I really enjoyed my time working at Rogers. I left on my own accord, but my time working for a few years as a CSR at the Blair Road location was fantastic. I went on LTD for a couple of years due to a disability, and the benefits covered me no problem. I had a lot of support in my efforts to go back to work, and they supported me fully in a move to another location.Eventually I left Rogers, but...
LOVE ROGERS, EVEN THOUGH I BEEN APPLYING THERE FOR OVER A YEAR NOW, MY LIFETIME GOAL IS TO WORK AT ROGERS AND START A CAREER AT ROGERS. WORKING AT ROGERS WILL MAKE ME SO HAPPY THAT I WILL NEVER COMPLAIN ABOUT GOING TO WORK. I WANT TO JOIN THE MOMENTUM.
Love working at Rogers. I never wake up and complain about going to work. Career advancement is supported by managers.
An organization where you can gain some excellent entry level work experience. Great place for new graduates to start their career and get some opportunity to do challenging work.
Star employees with long years of service are thrown out the door when they are no longer needed. Senior management turnover is high. New management discards existing systems and staff and work with vendors to bring in what they will be comfortable to work with. If you are a star performer run away from this company.
I use to work for Rogers since it was Cantel and than left just 3 years ago, and NOW WORKING FOR MABELL!!! THE WORSE MOVE OF MY LIFE!!!! I WANT TO GO BACK!!!! :( PLEASE TAKE ME BACK ROGERS...I PROMISE I WILL BE GOOD AND NEVER TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU EVER AGAIN!! :( ... THE BEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR EVER!!!! I WAS THERE FOR 12 YEARS! ... DON'T GO TO THE OTHER SIDE... IT'S BROWN ... NOT GREEN! THE...
I've been working for Rogers for about 6 months. Before starting at Rogers everyone was telling me not to go work there because they treat people like crap. SO UNTRUE!!!! I don't know what those people are talking about it. On my first day I already felt like we were a team, my trainer was so entertaining and made the training so much fun. Every morning I felt like going to work. When I started...
Good company to work for overall. The training is great, and the atmosphere and support are good too. No random lay-offs!
Rogers has an incredible amount of very talented people. They share a passion for success that is quite infectious. Compensation is good and opportunities for advancement for those that put in the effort are definitely there.
Rogers has an incredible benefit package including a dental plan and full prescription coverage. The pay is more than competitive when measured with other call centres in the city. Generous incentives are paid bi-weekly while quarterly bonuses can reach in excess of $1000. Rogers offers stock options, an RRSP package, and pension plan.I have worked for Rogers since September 2007 and I have...
Excellent in all respects. Above average pay and benefits and very good working environment with a good future in the excellent leading edge technology provided by Rogers.
First off these people are LIARS, Rogers is NOT a great employer.....It is tolerable to just get the $$$....If you decide to work for rogers in the call centre, please be prepared to deal with the DUMBEST PEOPLE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. Seriously is it that hard to read a bill??? The customers can verbally abuse you and we are not allowed to say anything but "sorry"... Please these people are...
Anyone who is saying you get paid minimum wage either works for rogers video or rogers wireless in the store. Of course you're not going to make above minimum wage renting out movies, my goodness people.... Anyways I work in BC metrotown call center fun management $16.81 per hour , $17.81 if you work past 6 pm. Full benefits from day one commission every month and quarterly bonuses .. ovbiously...
I have worked for Rogers for three years. These have been good three years of my life. Managers are very good, pay is good and the work is fairly relaxed. You get respect and management cares about your concerns for the most part.
Rogers overall is a good place to work. I have only been there for a short amount of time the pay is decent for the task being performed. Benefits and perk are very good with 50% Rogers services, a lot of third party discounts are also offered from entertainment to food, spas and hotels. Rogers also offers profit sharing, Manulife Finacial Benefir plans for you and your family, quarterly bonuses...
I'm in a mid-senior role and can't complain. I've been working for about 10 years in various roles and after 2 years here I'd say it's really good. Pay and benefits are well above average. Very good name to have on your CV.
Your worth at Rogers is dependent on: whether you smoke or not and that is closely related to your TM, you are unfortunately a # and the price on your head is for eg. a $ sign, get them in get them off your line...The more calls you take brings you closer to your TM because your worth goes up, you see his/her bonuses, quality of life, his toys, his future position to move around remember I said...
Amazing all around employer. Heavily compensated, great benefits. Love the company! Been there a year, received promotions, additional tasks and my hourly rate of pay will double from the original rate of pay October 2012. Paid very very well.
-helps employees plan and save for retirement with contributions to a defined benefit pension plan-in addition to a share purchase plan and year-end performance bonuses, employees receive generous discounts on a wide range of company products, from cellphones to digital television to major league baseball tickets-encourages ongoing employee development through a variety of in-house and online...
Great benefits package - One of the few remaining companies (outside of Gov/Crown Corp) to still offer a defined benefit pension plan. It makes up for the less than competitive salary if you intend to stay in a while.Diversity - Company is an extremely diverse place to work (this can also be a con, see below)Interesting work - Telecommunications is evolving. The industry as a whole is...
the cell phgone industry is very competitive.Bad area to work in,lots of burnout and turnover.
Very good compensation package and training. Stable employment - excellent place for those with real technical skills.
Bills go up---wage stays the same---terrible management----cuthroat people...constantly add positions or titles to your job with no compensation.....Treat there contractors like dirt....always cutting budgets...do more, less time, less pay.....do not work for them without a writing contract!!
I worked for Rogers in Ottawa at the call center on Blair Rd in the sales department. I have worked for several corporation prior to Rogers, but never in a call center. This is by far the worst place I have ever worked. The stress level to make sales is ridiculous! The work environment is toxic. Co-workers steal your sales commissions, their systems cannot calculate your commissions...
If you are ok to sell your soul... go work for Rogers. If you are ok being belittled ... go work for Rogers. When Ted died so did this company. If you think 3 wks vacation, 50% discount on you service and good benefits out way your dignity as a human-being... then go work for Rogers.
Great chances for advancement and room to expand your skills and freedom to choose your path. Excellent benefits packages and opportunities for social events and networking. Overall a very good place to work and start your career, I've been very very happy iwth my progress at rogers since I started there, and would recommend it as a place for my friends to seek work.
I have been working for Roger Publishing in Québec for almost 10 years. I was working as Graphic designer for one of French Magazines published by Rogers. I am not excellent as a designer, however done some very good work, that was even sent to different contests by my boss. However I am EXCELLENT in technical functionalities of different graphical applications. For all the time I have been...
the stress is way to high for a workplace
I am currently employed at Rogers. I have been here 19 years. This is a good company...it used to be an excellent company which truly was best in class. The culture has significantly shifted since the passing of Ted. I recall a time when it was a family oriented business that rewarded innovation and investing in developing and maintaining Canada's fastest and most reliable network. Sadly, the...
Worked at Rogers for 3.5 years, absolutely true when people say that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. In fact the right hand is often tangling the left hand. Tech support is not properly trained... the person I spoke to on phone couldn't even differentiate kb from gb of data usage. When I call in I sometimes play the "dumb customer" to get a credit...but when I have to...
The workplace is the gold standard and they do so much to help you along when you start with the company and when you join your team. The people and managers there are the best. The career opportunities at the call centre are so diverse that when joining, it's not hard to find something that you enjoy. I really enjoy going to work and it is a great change from many of the other companies that...
Rogers offers great benefits to their employees including investment opportunities and financial consulting services. Working for Rogers is like working with friends and family as most of our employees get a long very well with one another. I consider my co-workers my extended family. Information is shared freely between different sectors of the company.Rogers is such a large company and has...
Probably one of the worst companies I've ever worked for in terms of management. The management team for my dept. is ridiculous and I have never seen such unorganised work. A new employee going to work for the first day can pretty much stress him/herself out because she/he will have no idea what to do, how to do it, nor what are the procedures/policies of that specific department. Yes you have to...
I have worked for Rogers since September 2007 and I have advanced through several of the entry level positions, with plans to move to a new department shortly. I have moved through these positions at my own pace and with Rogers eager for you to learn all their lines of business, moving around in the company until you find something that fits is welcomed. Of course you are expected to meet several...
Opportunities, advancement and good environment for growth in career in your life. IF you're just getting started in your career and are very interested in the field of communications and technology then rogers is a very verry good company to work for because the many various fields are endless and as such one can really stretch their wings and find themselves in all sorts of different areas of...
One of the best employers out there, lots of possibilities and great foresight in choosing the "right" technologies and having a vision of being a fisrt class service provider. Looking at what is going on inside is a different story not as easily answered.
I've had many jobs in the past and by far this is the worst company ive work for. There is no reconigition for your hard work at all. The pay is horrible! Minimum wage basicially and on top of that commissions make you wanna jump out of the window. Also Dealing with customers that are morons and assholes that puts the cherry on top. Ur better off working for telus or bell where their honest...
Possibly one of the worst companies to work for. Absolute administrative chaos. Overlapping responsibilities to a degree that it is hard to find a person responsible for anything. Constant finger-pointing between teams and individuals and avoidance of responsibilities. No work-life balance at all. High stress level. Qualified people are quitting because of mistreatment, stress and disorganized...
I used to work for Rogers, and going through these rating I am astounded WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE SMOKING???? It has to be the teams leaders writing all of this crap, they do nothing and are useless fools who only say "DID YOU LOOK IN IQ?" I seriously don't see the point of them breathing down your back all the time STOP. PLEASE AVOID READING THESE RIDICULOUS COMMENTS ROGERS SADLY HAS BECOME A...
I work at the Rogers call center, has amazing benefits, 50% off rogers bill, started at $16.49 and up to $20 after 2yrs, 3wks vacation, plus you can bank your overtime for days off later. Downside are the customers, extremely stressful, and can take years before you no longer work nights or weekends.
The environment and work ethic is so much better than anywhere else that I`ve worked. There`s just a positive vibe walking through the doors into work everyday. There`s constant feedback from managers and even our directors know us on a first name basis and are always looking for feedback on ways to make work better than it already is. The expectations set out are realistic and attainable. More...
1) HUGE opportunity for growth. provided you display intelligence, strong work ethic and are willing to upgrade your skills through continuing education.2) The benefits and employee discounts are great!3) Workplace is very diverse, and now strays away from the "boys club" and shirt+tie approach.
Never work for the Rogers retail store. They now force all employees to work both on wireless/cable and video rental. We deal with bill payment complaints all the time. At times, customers' throw their cable boxes at us. We have cockroaches coming out of some of the boxes. There are some good customers, but for the most part you will get one angry customer per day for sure. You will never move...
Salary isn't bad compared to other companies out there, paid sick days and good benefits. Very few managers there that treat you with respect, but Im sure that can be found anywhere else as well. Compensation is given based on metrics (you get commision on your sales but also get extra bonuses if you meet or exceed your targets.)The only thing that is slightly irritating about rogers are the...
Could be better pay for the amount of responsibilites we all have and the rude customers we all have to deal with, but all in all they offer great benefits and promote from within, it is hte best company i have ever worked for.
I am absolutely baffled that Rogers is rated 4 and a half stars. By far the worst company Ive ever worked for. Wages and commissions and bonuses are good...if you meet your stats. The desks and chairs we use are all broken, and completely not ergonomically friendly. There is mold in the ceiling, and mice in the cafeterias. The overall office looks like crap - not really fun walking into that kind...
Could be better pay for the amount of responsibilites we all have and the rude customers we all have to deal with, but all in all they offer great benefits and promote from within, it is the best company i have ever worked for.
This company is GREED driven and does not care about the employees that work so hard under them. They just abruptly closed 40 or so Rogers Plus locations. The one I work at was doing amazingly well in both video rentals and sales, and cell phone sales. They just want to go to authorized dealers and online movies so they don't have to pay the overhead for a HUMAN EXPERIENCE. Shame on you...
This could be a good place to work but the scheduling sucks big time. Forget having a life outside of work. Management is only interested in their own time off, and the time off of their favorites.
Worked here 5 years and have to say it is a mix of very smart or very arrogant people (think they are smart). I have enjoyed working at Rogers and recommend this place to anybody looking to work for a big corporation with a lot of perks.Sadly it is not as competitive as it is political. Again if you enjoy working then look else where but if you dont mind sharpening your knives to deal with...
I have worked for Rogers for three years. These were the worst three years of my life. Managers a terrible, pay is terrible and they over work you. You get no respect and no one cares about you. This is the worst company ever. Stay away.
Pretty solid overall - good career stability and benefits, compared to many others out there. May not be as exciting a name as some people would like, but it is consistent and it will be around years from now, unlike many others.
Management throws you into the deep end and expects you to swim but gives you no direction or communication. Beware
rogers is great!really great, i love it so much its rediculous, omg i love rogers like its my favorite for sure, compared to everything els. you should definately work there.
Rogers is a great place to grow your career. If you are looking to come to a place where you will be rewarded for your efforts then Rogers is the place for you.
I worked part-time at a radio station in 1982 and was paid 15 dollars per hour. Rogers Communications later purchased this same station and when I got hired back there part-time in 2010, I was still being paid 15 dollars per hour. This is not only embarrassing, it is reprehensible and, in a corporate sense, irresponsible. Plus, notwithstanding the fact that I brought over 30 years of experience...
I rated Rogers Communications as poorly as I did because although i never worked there, I did interview there many times and went through 8 interviews before they told me "No".C'mon now, 8 interviews? Who goes through 8 interviews?I wonder if the CEO went through 8 interviews.8 Interviews to me means 1 person knows what they want and the other 7 SOB's play follow the leader.Worse...
You are required meet a certain percent of a metric and if you do meet it, you are paid for it. advancement is also a big possibility as the company is huge in canada. competition try to match them and they fail all the time.
Great company to work for. Highly recommended and some really great people. Cash is good for entry level but tons of advancement and benefits.
Worked for Rogers Retail for 3 years, Rogers never put efforts in employee recognition, there's no chance for advancement, the average manager life-expectancy in the store is approximately 6 months. Have to handle angry customers because you are the front-line of the Brand, must put up with faults that is not yours to begin with, and Rogers intentionally does not give you enough power to help...
I worked for Rogers bored out of my skull for 4 years in paygo and felt relieved when I was trained finally in Care Billing! I liked my job very much in terms of environment (work at home) and pay, communications, benefits etc. I quit because of political red tape, because my disability was not being accomodated, and because I was being undervalued.
Be aware of interviewing with this company. The process I went thru was humiliating and demeaning. There were several human rights violations and serious discrimination. I was shocked and left bewildered and frustrated. I interviewed at the HO for a position I was very qualified for and was treated like I was some kind of circus freak. I will be filing a Human Rights case against them.
Great place to work for during University! Working in the video sector let's me improve my communications ability, and sales ability. They push wireless sales and upselling, but other then that, a fabulous part time job.
Pay at all levels is pretty good - for some it is easy to blame management for everything and take no accountability for their own success. I have been with the company for 15 years - 8 as a front line representative and 7 as a first and second level manager. The benefits are still good - you may have to plan your retirement better - but gone are the days (for everyone) when you join a company...
I've never worked for a company that has robbed me of my self-respect and morals more than Rogers has. When it comes to selling wireless and even the rental side of our business, it feels like I'm just trained to lie and to constantly place the blame on customers for issues that are often the fault of Rogers' disorganization. A few years ago I also worked in a Rogers call centre where again, so...
Great company to work for. Highly recommended and some really great people. Salaries are extremely good at the entry level and there are tons of superbl opportunities for advancement and benefits.
they brain wash you right from the beginning and making you think that its one of the best company you're working for, which is wrong, the management are demeaning and disrespectful, talk behind your back and gang up on you, they are also power tripping, there are some good manager but you have to be lucky, they tell that that you will get better schedule eventually when you hit seniority, ive...
Rogers wireless has a high proportion of very capable people. They share a passion for success that is quite infectious. Compensation is superb and opportunities for advancement for those that put in the effort are definitely there.
Pay no mind to those who say Rogers is a good emplyer they are not. They pay well BUT the call centers are sweat shops.
Do not be fooled. Rogers has grossly manipulated its own rating on this site to the extent of being one of the top ten employers on RateMyEmployer.ca. I would like everyone to know that Rogers has NOT been on Canadas Top 100 Employers list since 2006. Feel free to verify for yourself http://www.canadastop100.com/national/ . I worked at Rogers and let me tell you there is a reason that...
Rogers will hire you for cable, which includes: tv, internet and home phone, then before you know it your job has turned into a SALES JOB!!!!!!!!!!! After that training is done they decide to train you for wireless (you have no choice to decline) and compensation remains the same, but your workload is much heavier. If you decide to work with rogers, just remember the position you are hired for...
Rogers is a great company to work for. for example you are required to meet a certain percent of a metric and if you do meet it, you are paid for it. advancement is also a big possibility as the company is huge in canada. competition try to match them and they fail all the time.
I worked at Rogers York Mills location from 2004-2006 and aside from the usual call centre stress, thought it was the best company I have worked for so far. The pay, discounts and benefits were great. For those commenting on Rogers that work for third party companies, it doesn't reflect on what it is really like. I have worked third party since moving to a province that doesn't have a Rogers call...
Rogers is a great company to work for. Unfortunately it's HR policies on compensation encourage people to leave. If you get promoted there is a cap on the amount your salary can be increased but if you apply from outside the company you can get a higher salary. The end result is people who want to work at Rogers are forced to leave and come back later to get a salary increase. On the upside I...
It's as good as a part time job can be considering the wage of surrounding businesses. Room for growth is nonexistant.
Great, professional organization. Has really started to walk the talk. We're sooooo spoiled at Rogers.
Heavy workload in Management Ranks causing Managers to be more reactive than proactive.
Good company, bad salary.
Trs bon respect envers les employs dans l'ensemble. Augmentations salariales suivant l'inflation. Pas de bonification significative ni d'incitatifs srieux pour encourager un rendement exceptionnel. Excellentes communications. Bonne ouverture permettre d'occuper de nouveaux rles. Compagnie pratiquant une saine gestion.
Beautiful office but no work life balance and an expectation to work overtime, but god forbid you ever leave early. They will actually cut your pay like and hourly employer. Have two interviews lined up so I should be gone soon.
Good name to have on your cv
Rogers has grown very quickly. Compensation in some departments does not match industry standard. Some of the management is being hired externally and is changing the Rogers traditional culture for the worse instead of promoting internally. Overall still an excellent employer.
Rogers is a great employer. The pay is a bit below what I expected. The benefits are amazing. For management staff, vacation starts at 4 weeks and moves up quickly in less than 10 years to 6 weeks. Great DB pension plan.
This is the worst place ever to work. The right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing, Absolute confusion as to who is responsible for whom. I had 3 new trainers in my first week.
From reading the comments below it seems that the level of satisfaction with the company is quite lower amongst the call centre employees. I started with Rogers Corporate last year in management, and absolutely love everything about my job. My director is supportive and encouraging my advancement, I am challenged and continue to grow in my role. Life-work balance is definitely there.
Great team of people who are committed to doing the best they can. Employees and customers are treated more as members of an extended family. Real sense of caring - work/life balance the best I have experienced. Good career opportunities for those that want them. Management receptive to new ideas and open to change. Pay is low however, and office not very nice.
they pay lowest 15.86 per hour othercompanies that sixe pay 19 per hour - it is all about connections there whom you know and how long you have been there - if you senior staff or kiss thier bum u can do anything but if you new they keep you on tight leash especially for first 6 monthss you are a bonded slave or dog on tight leash and u are to bark or do when they want to, when you are new too...
Very fun West Jet like atmosphere! Fast growing great place to be with many opportunities.Every work environment has some stress but the way that RCI employees team up and work together is demonstrates a great management style from top down!
great place, I've worked for many call centers and in terms of workload, compensation, very reasonable. - - -
yurt
Le millieu des tlcommunications est une des seule insdustries qui est en constante volution et quoiqu'ont en disent, Rogers est encore en 2011 un employeur de choix ! Cependant, le salaire est trop bas.
CALL CENTRE/ROGERS RETAIL REPSWe all seem to have similar frustrations with the different aspects of our job (I work in retail - Rogers Plus (video and cable combo store)). In my opinion, one of the biggest problems is the lack of communication between departments, upper and lower management as well as between retail and call centre. I think it would greatly improve things if there could be...
Cold Corporate Slave Driving Outsourcing Company from hell. Employees are numbers since Ted died. Company defects are put on workers back. Measured by numbers and company takes 0 accountablity for it's own flaws.
This place is a disaster. Short and sweet: Inept management cares more about the shareholder than they do about employees. Profit is king. Work/life balance is a non-factor.
Rogers wireless has an incredible amount of very talented people. They share a passion for success that is quite infectious. Compensation is good and opportunities for advancement for those that put in the effort are definitely there.
The communication level between the departments is not great.Stress level could be hectic, maybe company could come up with more plans to redue the stress lvel and be a pioneer and a role model in the Canadian's industry to initate a change. Over all Rogers it is a great company to work for and I recommend it to all my friends and family.
very stresful, unorganized, lack of corperation between employees, lots of shouting, bullying, careless attitude from employees, employees do what they please, even harrasing other weaker employees, no direction or plan from frontline managers... good luck at rogers!
Depending on what you do it can be hit or miss Survival of the fittest is the name of game I have had a poor experience with Rogers The Co. works too hard for the customerPay is weak in all areas1 Star
Good company but offering low salary.
Generally a good employer but YMMV. Noisy office space in Brampton. Salary is too low compared to the industry average.
I work for 660 News in Calgary. I hate every day of my life. Working here is hell. My immediate supervisor can not communicate properly, hates people, is rude, abusive, and a sad example of a human being. She is likely mentally ill. She is inexperienced, and Rogers only awarded her the position because she accepted the lowest amount of money. Rogers had a choice of many people who were well...
Fast paced but enjoyable...Change is constant but keeps you hopping....! All in all, a great company to work for. As Ted Rogers would put it, "The Best is Yet to Come". I believe that...
As with most companies, the "vision" and where the pressure lies in the actual job are on completely different pages. HOWEVER, Rogers is a wonderful company to work for. The money is excellent for entry level, there is room for advancement no matter WHAT your skill (admin, management, HR, etc) and the proper managing and coaching is provided in order to achieve these goals.
In the overall I can say Rogers is great organization which sets high standards of quality work. Simply the Best in the telecom in Canada.
Terrible company. No integrity. Screw customers and employees. Managers trained to pretend to care about you, all smoke and mirrors. Lot of backstabbing, gossip and politics in this company, all done with a smile which is required. Terrible micro management, mostly by computers and then punishment regularily doled out by management if you are out a few seconds form what they deem appropriate....
Compagnie experiment mais qui a pass au travers de dure restructuration....bon avantages sociaux..
Call centers are not great by definition but Rogers has managed to make this kind of employement enjoyable. Very professional people. Everyone is dedicated to their job and gets it done. I can recommed this place.
I can easily say this is the best job I have ever had. I am proud of working for Rogers and the fact that this is a Canadian company.
absolute worst company I ever worked for with over a decade of call center work I am willing to go back to a less paying employer to be treated more humainly i had an unfortunate unforseen lifechanging traumatic experience that very few people ever have to encounter in their life and there was no understanding at all i would never recomend Rogers for an employer if you want to have your human...
Having wasted almost 6 years of my life at Rogers, I advise anyone seeking an actual merit-based career to avoid doing the same. Look beyond the different surnames and realize how many people in low-to-mid level management are actually relatives - that should give you an idea of your own chance of moving up. If you plan to have a family, then you also need to look elsewhere. There is absolutely...
Best company I've ever worked for. The pay is great, the benefits are AMAZING -- part timers also get benefits.. Do you know of any other company offering benefits to part timers??? Recognition is great, they have employee of the month, etc. Opprotunity for advancement is always there..I love Rogers!
I have worked here for 10yrs now and have worked hard to advance through the company. Although I do not agree with how managers are selected you live with it. Financially Rogers is very fair and the pension plan, even though some people complain about it, is as good as the teachers pension plan! Along with ESAP and bonuses you will do well here if you work hard.
Good name to have on your CV.
I'm in a mid-senior role and can't complain. I've been working for about 10 years in various roles and after 2 years here I'd say it's decent. My boss is a bitch and so is my VP but the rest of my colleagues are pretty nice. Pay and benefits are above average. Good name to have on your CV.
Rogers - on a general note sure one of the best employers out there, lots of possibilities and great foresight in choosing the "right" technologies and having a vision of being a fisrt class service provider. Looking at what is going on inside is a different story not as easily answered.
I worked for Rogers at two seperate locations for over three years. I was trained for all of the mangerial duties, never paid more than 10.50/hour and the corporate level was greedy and disorganized. The only saving grace was that both stores I worked at happened to have some of the most amazing staff I've ever had the pleasure of working with, really great people made the corporate experience...
One of the best out there !Call centers are not great by definition but Rogers has managed to make this kind of employement enjoyable. Very professional people. Everyone is dedicated to their job and gets it done. I can recommed this place.
not a bad place to work in compare to other call centers
Solid employer, good management, above average salary (in spite of what other say). Some jobs will be more stressful and less paid than others like working in the call centre. But if you work in technology Rogers is a GREAT place to be.
I love my job. It is probably the greatest job i've ever had. My name is Aron Ghebre, and i'm a CSC at Rogers wireless atria, and not just any CSC. I make more money than basically any other employee in the building through commissions, bonuses, and extensive business gifts and free vacations. I'm set to make about $55,000 for 2010, while other bitter CSC's are squeaking by on their base salary....
Having worked at mulitple call centers Rogers by far is better than any other company. Every job has it's good points and bad points, as does your employeer. Working at a call center is not for everyone as it is the 2nd most stressful job compared to an air traffic controller. That is why there is always such a higher turn over rate for ANY call center. The average agent in my call center has...
I worked at Rogers doing Blackberry technical support for 8 months. I am now a 25 year old, full time, first year business student. Rogers sucks, and working at Rogers sucks. Those of you who feel trapped at their job reading this right now, if you truly believe you have what it takes to succeed, quit immediately, because you will never realize your true potential at that company.
Rogers Cable Nov. 2010.....Take a bunch of Bell Managers that ran that company into the ground and make them Directers at present day Rogers. As a 15 year employee of Rogers Cable I'm watch the same turn of events happen to us. Who the hell is hiring and paying the salary of these clowns?! Ted would not stand for this. God rest your soul. I miss you.
Most of Rogers Tms have no ideas on how to handle calls nor how to coach calls. You go to them for help the first question out of there mouth is "Did you check in the Library?" Duh,,, why do you think I am here of course you did... then they would half listen to your issue, then send you back to your desk to say the exact same thing you just said to the customer. The tms sit at their desk and...
Well most of the things people are saying are true about ANY job. To be promoted in ANY company you have to have the full package. I can guarantee a lot of you don't. The opportunities are endless at Rogers. I'm not going to lie, my first year was rough but working in a call centre anywhere you are going to experience the same thing. I am almost at my third year at Rogers and I would have...
I've been there for 3 years . The first year was hell, I had a manager who enjoyed micro-managing.It was horrible. Although he is a nice person to talk to. He is a nightmare to work under. He also was clearly under pressure. I never meet a manager who we would call at every single hours of the night and he would answer the call. We would constantly call him because other Team Managers(TM) would...
from a rogers employee
I worked for Rogers for a number of years and while hard work is the cornerstone and thank you's are often said, HR and Senior Management have no clue how to retain a employee that wants to make a difference and be value added. In other words, they are all talk and no action. The difference is the people you work with because the company culture and proof of fixing it is nonexistent.
I worked for Rogers for 11 years- held positions in 3 departments through that time. I was let go in 2009 and paid for a year. One thing i can say is that my time at Rogers provide me opportunity for moment an advancement on many levels. Some departments are better off than others --and if you have people to look out for out for you it makes it easier. If you work in I.T you are over worked an...
As most of Rogers emplaoyees are in a call center environment there will be some stress and it does take someone special to be able to handle the work that Rogers does require of them. That being said...Rogers does need to pay more for there employees and remove the salary cap. I mean here we can not make more than $30,000 a year salary as a CSC. I don't know of any other company that has a cap...
No wonder your company provides the worst customer service, because it has such bitter and badly treated reps managed by incompetent managers who don't have any knowledge of the industry.
Wouldn't personally recommend. Worked there for 10 years. Things have been going downhill for the company especially since Ted passed. They totally forgot my 10 year date which came and went. They state your seniority counts but you still get scheduled on stat holidays "due to business needs". Certain upper management do not tell front-line staff of known issues until last minute and then tell...
Common practice to lay-off employees each quarter to meet targets. This looming practice creates an environment of cut throat survival. Employee retention is not based on ability/performance but on "who you know" and "who likes you".
Not the worst company to work for - pay and benefits are good however the workload is very heavy and it can be quite stressful depending on what part of the organization you work for. Work / Life balance is brutal so if that is important to you I would avoid this company.
Management only cares about stats. They ask you to finish calls with customers in short periods of time while in the same breath ask you to provided good customer service. Can't use the bathroom when you feel like it. Pretty much a sweat shop.Advancement is based on who likes you as apposed to how well you do your job. Bonuses are based on pissed off customer being both satisfied with you and...
The worst. I have been in telecommunications for almost 3 decades. No integrity in this company. No concern for employees at all. Burnaby location is infested with rodents for more then three years now. Yes rats and mice running around, it is the dirty little secret. Anybody who is good at the job and has integrity leaves.....only the ass kissers and fake people stay. Mangement has not a clue,...
I've been at Rogers for 5 years. i would never consider working anywhere else. Many people are unhappy with Rogers because there is little to no recognition for substandard performance. If you excel people will notice and doors will open. It is simply a company that recognizes the best of the best. I have always gotten my full bonus and can't complain about the compensation. The only complaint i...
This company is uneven depending on what city you are in, what product you support, what role you are assigned to do, and the actual work. This might be fascinating from a short-termperspective, but not anything long-term, unless you're working in sales and marketing, which iswhat cell phone carries rely on greatly these days ...image, propaganda, hype.
Corrupted company with bad values and terrible management. I never realized how little Rogers Communications cares for the customers until I actually worked there. No integrity, hanging up on customers, lieing to customers, and the numerous audacious activities are the reason why I left. They pay well and their compensation plan is designed to screw the customer and benefit the magament.
Listen... same as Rater134. YOu must work HARd or kiss @$$ or BOTH to move up here. I am overqualified for my CSC job. I wanted into Training. Ive been here for a eyar and a half without so much as a nod. Inept, out of touch mgmt who bases your ENTIRE career path on your numbers, as well as an attitude from mgmt in other departments that it would be a PRIVELEDGE to be anything other...
I was employed with Rogers for three years and worked very hard in their publishing division. Every time was on track to achieve sales targets, the senior management team would change the targets. It is a very unethical organization and although the pay structure was decent, it does get frustrating when someone changes the game rules half way through the game. This is a very top heavy...
Here is my story....I was employed with Rogers' Communications Inc. for nearly two years. The job title in which I accepted was "Outward Customer Care Specialist" within the Wireless Department. I was thrilled, even though there was of course a "very small" sales aspect to this placement, I would most enjoy serving as a "proactive" information/help desk to new and existing customers. I...
I was a contract worker working in the inbound Care Billing department. Benefits were almost non existent, pay was minimum wage and floor support was almost non-existant. I left as soon as I got another job. I do understand that Rogers is hiring more and more contract workers to save money but even contract workers need a decent pay with FULL time hours to feed their families. This was the worst...
I was in the publishing sector - I was so excited when i joined. I had heard a variety of good and bad reviews of the work place - but I was eager and wanted to work with the creative team there. I was head hunted to join the team. After about a month or two of work - several pretentious managers swooped in from head office in Quebec and laid off several employees - that were essential to getting...
I worked for Rogers in New Glasgow for about 2 1/2 months they told my training class it would be a great fulfilling job and that it could become a new career, I got on the floor my 1st day and they didnt have a headset for me so I had to use the phone itself not to bad aside from transfers, then in the middle of my 2 days off they call me and ask where am I and why am I nto at work, they changed...
I worked in the accounting dept and to be truthful there are worse places to work but the company provides marginal pay and a heavy workload. The benefits are exceptional but the pay is lousy so if you have chronic health problems and have a wealthy spouse you might like working there. There are little opportunities for advancement where I worked but it actually had a benefit - very little need...
A colleague celebrated their 25th anniversary working in the company (first as part of Maclean Hunter which was then bought by Rogers). On their anniversary, the VP and head of the division, wrote a congratulatory message on desk note paper, not even a card or on letterhead stationery and his secretary placed it on their desk. This pretty much sums up Rogers and how badly they treat their...
I thought working for Rogers being such a large company would be great. Was i ever wrong. I walked out in the middle of a shift and will never go back. The management is horrible with no knowledge of current going ons. You ask a question and they have no clue. They are merley focused on stats so no one ever does their job correctly and passes the buck. You always dread the words on the other end...
Working for this company should be your very last option. Go to school, get a degree or suffer the consequences of poor management in an environment where waves of negativity come crashing down on your psyche. If you have any sense of pride this job will not suite you. You will be monitored, you will be diciplined, and your cofidence will be brought down all in the name of "A better customer...
I joined Rogers thinking it would be a great company to work for. I had lots of ideas on how to improve processes based on previous experience. Sadly, any idea submitted to the you improve pipeline rarely gets followed through on. The typical response (if its even responded to), is that someone has brought this up and here is why we don't do this. They are a juggernaut in the wireless industry,...
I worked for Rogers a few years ago and was treated like crap! The person who was training my group spent more time talking about her personal life than work related issues in training. I did excellent with the customers but the team managers would listen in on my calls and complain because I wasn't a wording things properly. (I asked a customer what I could do for you today rather than "How can...
It will all depend on who is your Team Manager is or isn't for that matter, support is to a minimum, every one with a title is on some power trip, it seems like all the mgmt team on the call center floor, had some kind of a terrible childhood, and now they are taking it back on the people that work there, some people are nice and helpful, the magority expect you to have known everything in the...
Very UNFAIR employer! Was on contract for two years, without a single cent of a salary increase. This recession, they did an OPPRESSIVE move to even reduce the hourly rates of contract employees, that is, after reducing the work days too. So greedy for savings that they did not even have the consideration to spare us a few cents from our menial pay. Contract employees were BADLY DISCRIMINATED....
horrible, just horrible. they treat us like children at daycare. they also don't pay us correctly, holding commission back and when they finally pay it out, it's never correct
Held several positions @ Rogers. Lots of opportunity, stress and confrontation. Suppliers treated badly. Employees viewed as commodities from top to bottom of co. Have to fight for work/life balance. $ is most important and need to meet objectives that change on a dime. I've changed jobs in 1 day and in 5 yrs held only 1 job for close to a year. Recruiters, suppliers and many customers...
I worked within the sales organization at Rogers. Solid place to work. Great culture, they empower their employees to make decisions, and you feel like you make a difference. I highly recommend a Career at Rogers.
terrible place, i was bullied and belittled by my "acting" team manager who was on quite the power trip, she wouldnt help you unless you kissed her butt and she was usually out for a smoke break when you needed to talk to her. hr was just as bad with thier "empowerment" phrases, i would never work there again if i made 100,000 a year and i have canceled all my rogers services!
I loved working for Rogers and wish that I still did work there. I do caution everyone though to watch your backs. I was a Team Manager here and had consecutive months near the end of my tenure where my team was Top Sales, Lowest AHT or Top Team. Upon my arrival at work, I was asked to go with one of the directors Iwas escorted to a office out of the Call Center and met with HR. I was told...
I believe management has no idea of the reality of the work we do and what goes on the floor, nor do they have any interest in wanting to know. They are totalling into their stats ,that's all what counts. usually in meetings but things rarely get solved. they can't seem to fix problem where fixing is needed so they add the work load to their customer service reps.I would definetely not recommend...
Rogers Wireless is a company that is just concerned with profits. This company doesn't mind putting the screws to the customers and employees alike.Check into the "billing errors" that just happen to overcharge customers at the end of the year cycle. This is the time period when Rogers shows the yearly profits to the shareholders. Rogers has over a million customers, and imagine how a $0.50...
This is a warning to everyone working freelance for Rogers Publishing...you will not be paid. I've been waiting for the last two months to get paid. It's ridiculous. Accounts Payable are complete idiots. To Rater 121, get out of publishing as soon as possible. I think this part of the company is going out of business or will be sold. Upper management are completely clueless on how to run a...
Just started here in publishing. Not a good place to work at all. I've been here all of 3 months and its been an absolute nightmare from my first day. Doing my very best to get the hell out!
Garbage place to work unless your are a minority, single mom, over weight with marital issues, or just plain stupid with only a HS diploma. Call center is a glorified factory job paying borderline minimum wage. Other call centers pay the standard 16/hr and commission at Rogers is a joke. The thought of moving up through the company is an illusion as well. What are you going to move up to? TM?...
This company only cares about the almighty dollar. Upper management (VPs) only care about their annual bonuses. The atmosphere is a toxic one. In Rogers Publishing, I would highly recommend working elsewhere as employee morale is at an all-time low. Average pay, no opportunities for advancement, unless you are deemed a "favourite" of the VPs. Only "Yes" men/women do well here.
Customer service? Ownership? What for? Just transfer the customer left right and center. Oh sure you can point that out to your TM, but you may as well talk to the wall. The thing about rogers is that when you do take the time to fix everyone elses mistakes, your Tm complains about your stats( AHT, sales, etc...) So basicly, if you dont care about anything, except your pay, then this is the place...
I started out working for Fido, then Fido got bought by Rogers, then Fido Stores got transitioned into Rogers Retail (a division within Rogers Cable). Rogers Retail is the worst part of the Rogers group of companies. Our commissions and wages have been reduced to a fraction of what they were. There are MANY of us who will record a difference of $15000 this year compared to last year in commission...
Management is the worst I have seen - only if you are in the click or worked with someone in a past life do you get promoted. Internal promotions are a joke, they already have a friend in mind. HR sucks, they don't even know what your job entails, even when they are interviewing you. No one to complain to about managers, when you go up the line you are told not to bother the director and you...
Rogers provides you overall with a great place to work and provides great benefits
Incredible company to work for. Sometimes internal communications can be lacking or non-existent but otherwise it's great. They recognize good work and reward you for it and always have employee appreciation events.
Incredibly strong leaders and visionaries in Nadir and Rob Bruce and they have take Rogers Wireless to an incredible place versus where it was when they started. And while there are stars in the executive ranks below Rob Bruce, there are still too many people who are below par or who were fine for the company 5-10 years ago, but are not up to the demands of today. The industry is in a...
I personally didn't mind working for Rogers. Compared to other jobs it paid fairly well, the benefits were great and the employee discount was pretty nice.Teamwork was huge in my department, communication with supervisors and team members was frequent enough to make me feel connected to what was going on, plus the training was detailed enough to help me do my job well.Definitely never a...
People complaining about working for Rogers are generally folks with no work ethic and just want a pay check. Management is fine, nice people but its a progressive company so things do get hectic at times. Rogers is a top ten employer in Ottawa and I'm very lucky to work for them.
I overall love working at Rogers. The people are great, the customers are friendly the majority of the time. And the empowerment we have to solve customers issues is wonderful. A call center is a tough job, but with a great company behind you, offering incentives, a pat on the back, and great benefits and pay..you can't really complain!! :)
Sadly, this company lacks any serious communication with it's front-line employees and their issues. Employees are quickly and poorly trained, have to use several different applications and when they need help, noone is around for guidance.
Where do I start? I've worked for the Wireless company for a long time and have seen (& experienced) many unbelievable things. I've seen employees steal and not get fired, misuse company property and nothing is done (it's actually a running joke). It's very clique-y, they hire their friends, promote their buddies. They've promoted people who are blatently not qualified (usually their buddies)...
They train thier employees to take ownership for a problem, but then when it comes down to it, anybody in the position to do so when it comes to an employee matter will not. They "pass the buck" Thier HR is poorly ran, and it seems nobody knows who is supposed to take responsiblity. I had an issue with my pay, that was an error on thier part, and it took a week to be resolved. Meaning I, a person...
its a job, pays ok and benefits are ok. I have been there for a decade and have seen many talented people come and go due to lack of management skills. The problem stems from poor upper management VPs etc that trickles down to middle management. If you are just looking to pick up a paycheque biweekly and ensure you meet every metric on a scorecard then this is the job for you
I love working for the company and enjoy the people, atmosphere, and they treat you very well
Well I certainly would recommend this place...perfect atmosphere to work in
I love working at Rogers! Great benefits and decent pay.
I Enjoy my job at rogers and feel blessed to have a great company behind me.
I've worked for three large communications conglomerates as a call centre representative through out the past 6 years. Roger's is definitely a leader in business policy , management, benefits, pay and employee recognition.Less office bureaucracy and for the most part, good intentions are had by all.
Most of the complainers are...
i have worked at other call centers before rogers and the atmosphere is worse than the time i did this at 8.00 per hr. the company likes to think they are better than most as the building is cleaner and the flowers look good outside. i would not recomend this company to anyone and you do have to know someone to get ahead. as far as putting in the time, i just want to know who you put the time in...
It's perfect here...I'm happy going to work everyday
Many scandals and wrongful practices. Non ethical company
Rogers offers a great environment to learn and grow on a personal level. Many employees quit to take 1 year at another company to get around bureaucratic advancement and compensation polices. Employees are not rewarded for exceptional service above their pay grade.
I could not agree with your comment more. If you are looking for Heart disease, cancer, ulcers and mental issues Rogers is probably the best place to work. Not to mention the company is very unethical and while Ted is rich , he himself has stated he didn't always play fair. I didn't start out as Rogers but came on through one of the buy outs I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. ...
Red tape City.
I had problems getting paid as a freelance employee in the Publishing division. There's a lot of cronyism and an old-time, conservative atmosphere. However, it was also a place that nurtured my creativity, challenged me, and developed my skills. I would recommend it, with the caution about unstable paycheques.
Rogers is a job. It pays my bills. I tried so hard to get in only to get in and after almost 2 years, I'm very dissapointed. The job itself pays okay but the policies are horrible. I work at Rogers Park and it's SOOO disorganized. No one knows anything, the rules change daily, they can't seem to make up their mind. There isn't enough seating for everyone at peak hours and they continue to hire...
333 bloor st east is the call centers of all call centers!
Thee best employer I have ever had and I see myself with the company from many decades to come, from the bottom to the top.
I love working at Rogers!
The ottawa centre is quite a enjoyable place to work. rogers is an employer with great benefits and room for advancement.
Great place to work !!! Good money, great benefits. Huge potential for advancement, if you are willing to put in the effort. A little on the clicky side. Everyone talks the same there. "Rogers Robots"
Disorganized and unethical
Although the Brampton Campus is very disorganized, there are other centres that are quite pleasant and fun.
Wonderful company to work for at the call centre level, excellent pay, incentives, great employee discounts and all around good good stuff, the only problem that i see at the Rogers call centre is the middle management... particularly the directors...they dont always think outside the box and seem to be more focused on their internal competition with other directors... dont get me wrong, the...
In comparison to other call centre type work this job is a 10 out of 10.Excellent pay, excellent benefits. Great discounts, excellent web applications just for staff. Can't get any better!I would recommend this job to anyoneIn comparison to other call centre type work this job is a 10 out of 10.Excellent pay, excellent benefits. Great discounts, excellent web applications just...
Not what I hoped it would be, its just the same as Bell
I do enjoy working for them, in despite of the bad communication between the call center and the rep in stores. I love my job anyway!
Rogers needs to pay more attention to their call center employees. Mr. Rogers do you ever ask yourself the question why your turnover is so high? Perhaps you should.
Best company to work for Bar none.....20 years..... and still look forward to going to work every day.Fantastic group of people to work with. I wouldnt work anywhere else. Ill be there until I retire. Great Benefits. in 20 years i have worked at 7 different locations for Rogers. Brampton Park is wonderful.
In IT, the pace of work has increased substantially, but not the compensation. As in all organizations, there are bright spots, and h*ll holes.
Although Rogers has many talented people at the VP level and below, their Senior Management team lacks focus and direction.
not enough consistency with management. you might get a super team-manager or you might get a passive-aggressive bitc# manager. poor recruiting since at any point the call centers are stuffed full, but they're still hiring more. HIGH employee turnover and little effort to address the reasons for this. pay scale is WAY lower than average. little to no recognition for the average joe and sometimes...
Rogers' vision is extraordinary - Ted has a tremendous amount of motivation and drive. The company offers a a considerably competitive salary, and I'm sure that if you happen to be lucky enough to be part of upper management this is a dream job with plenty of opportunity. However for those confined to the lower echelon, the job offers little more than a pay cheque, one large enough to force you...
One of the best companies I've ever worked for!
If you can pass the buck and like to kiss butt, you will do well
I am working for fido/rogers since 8 years & i am very happy !
I've wanted to work for Rogers for years, and now that I am, it's even better than I expected!
I would recommend Rogers to anyone looking for customer service work. Great benefits and compensation!
!
The company has treated me well so far. Good benefits, I have advanced pretty fast and the company didn't hold me back. I had an offer from a different company, Rogers interested me in staying. I am not planning to leave this company any time soon.
Best company I've ever worked for!
While we would all like to earn more, I think Rogers share plan, retirement plan 85 and health insurance is amazing. If you take advantage of the share accumulation plan ... its an automatic %50 return. After 3 years. Starts at %15 I believe. Not to mention the %50 discount on all rogers products and even Jays tickets.I hate the fact that I rarely hear "good job" and usually hear "please fix...
I am happy working here as I have worked for other communications companys and this is by far the best one in the province of Alberta
great company but advancement and salary options suck! Ted has 8 billion dollars - share some with your employees
Rogers needs to get away from the "Ontario is the center of the universe" attitude and start paying closer attention to the guys who are working much harder down here in Atlantic. The pay compared to other cable companies is ludicrous.
The communication level between the departments is not great.Stress level could be hectic, maybe company could come up with more plans to redue the stress lvel and be a pioneer and a role model in the Canadian's industry to initate a change. Over all Rogers it is a great company to work for and I recommend it to all my friends and family. Mr. Rogers GOOD JOB!
Number #1 in most parts
As long as you understand that you need to cover your own butt, you will be okay.
Great company to work for ... if you want to grow, this company will let you as long as your work hard and think outside the box.
Rogers is a fairly well respected Canadian company. It's gotten big too fast and now must deal with internal cleanup and getting back to customer satisfaction.
N/A
An average company to work for, This company is based on nepotism and who you no, there is a culture of the old boys club in wireless. There are no visable minorities in Management and absolulty none in Upper Management. Its sad to see when when the every day workers are have more education than the people u work for. Rogers has great vision but Terrible middle management.
Has a unique culture - centred around "the family" and its loyal sucker uppers. You'll do fine if you just understand that you are there to do what they want, . The culture and work environment are pretty ad hoc - how good or bad you get it depends on who you work for. Poor controls, poor processes.
The pay is ok for a call centre, the stress is unbelievable, the scheduling couldn't be worse, the communication between dpts is 0, the store reps are extremelly untrained. The customers are terrible for the most part. I wouldnt recommend this job unless in desperate need of money.
?
Good company to work for, well rounded, lots of room for growth, but needs better management needs to work as one which doesnt usually happen at Rogers call centre, resulting in new polices in how the customers are delt with as well as how employees are rated internally, which is quiet a tuen-off because as soon as you get used to one policy....you find out that it has changed over night. So as...
NULL
Well rounded company with a lot of many different job opportunities.
Rogers = God
Good
A recommended company to work for based on its visionary leader.
Great company overall. Great benifits and employee recognition with room to advance. Down falls are lack of communication between departments can really slow down progress which creates lots of frustration. This is a company that empowers but also expects employees to take full responsibilities for thier job even when things are going wrong in other departments effecting the job at hand.
Absolutely WORST company ever!!!!! Horrible service and absolutely no communication between the different departments. Better yet, no communication between the Rogers Stores and Rogers Call centre. A bunch of untrained, unconcerned reps, with lack of training and total lack of knowledge. I THOUGHT Bell Canada was bad!!! Was I ever Wrong!!!
A wonderful company to work for. Excellent pay, benefits and incentives!
Amazing company to work for
Just a amazing company to work for , I truly take pride in driving a vechical with a Rogers Logo on it.
Rogers is great.
I enjoy working for Rogers. I've worked for Bell. The differences would astound you.
Great employer, great compensation, little room for movment within some departments....
Good compensation, really hard to like a technical job there unless you have a really good manager such mine :P Still a lot of room for growth, exciting industry.
Rogers as a whole is a great company, but customer care is a horrible orginization.
Rogers offers excellent compensation for new employees. They do not take as good care of their existing employees. Some employees who have been there for years are making less money than people fresh off the street, doing the exact same job, and HR has policies in place that prevent managers from bumping their salary up to match. The benefits package is excellent for both full-time and...
Overall is a good company to work for. Starting pay is fantastic and benefits for part time employees is at 80% coverage which is nice 2..On the other hand, communication between many departments is garbage, one rep will tell a customer one thing and someone will tell them something totally different. Advancement in rogers tends to be a bit difficult as well, you need to be in a call center...
The work...
Rogers - on a general note sure one of the best employers out there, lots of possibilities and great foresight in choosing the "right" technologies and having a vision of being a fisrt class service provider. Looking at what is going on inside is a different story not as easily answered. Many a thing, structures and procedures are outdated, not fully functional and need a major overhaul in order...
Could be better pay for the amount of responsibilites we all have and the rude customers we all have to deal with, but all in all they offer great benefits and promote from within, it is hte best company i have ever worked for!
An excellent company to work for, as long as you show a willingness to work for advancement they will work with you to ensure it occurs
Best company I've ever worked for. The pay is great, the benefits are AMAZING (starting in Jan, part timers will also get benefits.. do you know of any other company offering benefits to part timers???), recognition is great, they have employee of the month, etc. Opprotunity for advancement is always there.. I've only been with the company for 2 years and I've already been promoted up to...
Great Company to work for.
Yes, Rogers pays well, and yes, there is room for growth. WHY? BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE LEAVE! At the customer service level, this company is a nightmare to work for. All they care about are numbers. Being a top performer, you would think that they would recognize your performance enough to bend a little for you with regards to scheduling. (A university student that needs to work full time can not...
Rogers is by far the greatest company to work for!!
Where to start.....Well they moved all of IT to a building in Brampton (Armpit of Ontario) which is an issue for 80% of the staff. Then they take what is a small workstation and ram in two so we are sitting on top of each other, and then the rip out all the trees, rip up the parking lot for a year log project and if you don't get a parking spot early you are screwed. This lack of thought is...
NOT GOOD
Rogers is too focused on the bottom line and forgets about the employees that run his Company. He has a very bad habit of purchasing Companies and then laying people off. CRTC should regulate his Company more and restrict on which Companies he buys for which purpose only to discard what he does not want.Management in this Company are unskilled rejects from other Carriers.
Unfortunately for this company, Mr. Ted Rogers, only looks out for his "own". While running around posting his name on Buildings and buying up other companies, they forget about those employees they take on. No understanding of the businesses, perks taken away, job insecuritry ( when you dont know how to run a business it tends to start to fail) and just plain being mean. No I would not recommend...
Love working at Rogers. Have been here for 12+ years and wouldn't think of working elsewhere. Unless there's a lucrative over for me to make $100K+ and playing video games or something like that. Great people, great atmosphere and managers who listen to you.
Great company to work for!
Rogers is a great company because there are lots of opportunities for advancement and they recognize their employees constantly!
Great company to work for, great salary, great benefits, lots of opportunity for advancement.
Not So Great
Despite Rogers always touting how important customer satisfaction is to them, I can't go to a cocktail party or run into an old friend without acting as Customer Service desk, listening to the myriad of complaints people have about our Customer Care. Rather than hiring $35K -a-year low-quality employees to man the phones, Rogers should put its money where its mouth is, and pay $ for quality,...
Rogers offers a variety of experiences depending upon where you are within the organization. At the most senior level, the group is brilliant led by Nadir and Mr. Rogers, who are two of the nicest people you can meet. The senior vision has transformed the company into the leader in Canadian Telecommunications. At the customer care level, it is one of the most dysfunctional groups that...
Great - pay, people I work with and location. Not so great - disorganized and not as strategic as it could be.
It truly has become a great company to work for.
Rogers is a great company to work for. I've only been with them a short time but they're amazing.
