Intelligarde is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me. This company has changed me as a person forever, it tought me many important life lessons, throughout all these years I got to deal with real people and real problems. It taught me how to be loyal and how to respect others. Everyone here who says that this company is bad, simply was not ready for it. If you want to become a...

Very poorly run organization. Not professional.

Guards were treated very badly and were blamed for everthing. I overheard lots of guards being yelled at and cursed out for simple mistakes. Many were fired. Revolving door for sure.

Management seemed to be in a constant state of panic. Always reacting to problems instead of trying to find more perminent solutions. The worst part is...

This company does not respect peoples' personal goals or lives, and as a previous poster had stated, is purely political. Having been there for more than 3 years, I have witnessed excellent employees with no prior disciplinary issues get fired over personal vendettas, or for no reason at all (which unfortunately is protected by a loophole in the employment standards act).(...). This is the type...

I am actually thinking about applying to this company. Do they check work references? I applied to Intercon and they asked for 6 references!!! Three immediate supervisors from three different work places and three personal references. This is a more stringent requirement than the one asked by the Toronto Police, and I hope that Intelligarde does not have this madness.

This company is purely political. I was a supervisor there for three years and was "let go" because I reported that I was being harassed by a supervisor to management... Never was written up or given a verbal. I have seen so many people fired for absolutely no reason other than a supervisor doesn't like you... Or a client complaining about someone. This company no longer has a good impression...

The best place to start for police related experience. Good training, good staff (mostly), exciting work. The company has high standards. Tasks ranged from shutting down escort services run by organized crime groups, dealing with domestice disputes, intervening in assaults and other crimes, searching for missing children....making arrests....on and on.

Pay is CRAP but you will be paid...

Horrible company to work for unprofessional and disorganized. One of the supervisors who was suppose to come and hand us our incident reports skipped work. Lack of safety equipment and care for the staff is not worth 10.25. Sometimes I would get a call 3 in the morning asking me to go on duty 3 hours away for only 2 hours. And sometimes I wont get a call for weeks.

Intelligarde is a valuable experience. Do not bother will this company if you are just trying to sit on your butt and get a pay cheque. Work for this company if you want to learn how to deal with difficult people, e.g. Drug addicts, gang related people, mentally unstable people. Intelligarde does offer some "sit back and relax" job sites, but your wasting your time with those if you want to get...

If you want to get assaulted in high risk areas while on the job Intelligarde is place for you. You will work without a partner in the worst communities in Toronto without a partner for 10.25. Management is very rude and don't care about employees. Management is just out to fire gaurds just for the fun of it. They hired so much guards cause they fire so much workers and have to replace them. When...

if you like to risk getting stabbed, beaten up or hurt for 10.25 intelligarde is the place for you, i worked for this company for 5 months, dealt with supervisor who think their police officers aready and would write you up behind your back to get you fired, and quards who would actually look to pick fights and make arrests, in result to that the company has been sued many times. this company does...

I worked at Intelligarde for several years. It was the best and worst times of my career. The training and expereince was second to none. The pay was lousy, but the job was amazing. One thing about them is that they pay garbage, but they tell you they pay garbage. Intelligarde looks at itself as a stepping stone into better paying law enforcement jobs. They don't want you to stay with them longer...

I highly discourage anybody working for this company especially if you have post-secondary education planning on persuing a career in law enforcement.

This company offers *free UNPAID training* and offers great experience working in Jane and Finch for 10.00 an hour *after you take an additional 3 courses about 7 days in duration not including your first aid and cpr which you have to pay for*....

I have been working for Intelligarde for three years and I have had an excellent experience. The training is excellent and they really do help you reach your career goals. I came in with a PF diploma but not having any experience. They started me out on a low risk site and as I took courses (they are free) and was mentored by more experienced guards, I have gained so much confidence and skill...
