I have worked there awhile. I've seen the politics and just did my job. The company nickels and dimes you on anything it can. You would think that being one of the "old timers" who knows how to do everything and train or deal with emergencies, they would value that. Instead I am a liability since we can replace anyone with someone cheaper.

So, if you are OK to learn some basics, and need a...

I must say that the company is successful at what it does. But it is not a good choice for someone with ambition and growth. I recently heard of several "lay-offs" just to get rid of senior executives and CSR's and to save money. Pay is what you would expect this type of company to pay you, but please try to use them as a stepping stone, to acquire Call Center/Canadian work experience, DO NOT...

FMG is horrible and its management must improve. They enjoy hiring 'seat fillers', so they can be fired when no longer needed, as well as firing their long-term knowledgeable staff. Management & HR have no care about the CC staff, their comments, concerns or recommendations. You need to suck up to get ahead or do drinks with a Male Supervisor to get ahead!! Avoid or be stressed.

For those who want to know, this is indeed the worst co. ever! I am specifically referring to the fact that i was pressured to not take the 10 sick days that u r by law entitled to even though my attendance for the most part was excellent and I had started to develop a problem which needed an appt once a month with a specialist. I was pressured into not even being able to take up to 5 of them. I...

For those of you who feel that FMG is a great place to work, stop kissing up to X and X. You will not get any gift cards, appreciation or the respect you desire. If you have worked at FMG for a long time and you do not feel that it is a bad place, than you are just ignoring what is happening to your fellow co-workers. For the one who said that some CSR's fall asleep at their desks or talk too...

The company needs some vision, one that is shared with all. This way all employees would feel as part of a united team.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! By far the WORST.

Management only favors a select few. If they like you, you can get anything you want. If they don't like you, you'll be out somehow.

Some people get warnings for things that they didn't do, yet others do things that warrant a warning and never get one.

You are only told about what you did wrong, but rarely about having done something right....

This company has thus far been great. We get commission paid on our sales. We get a premium for working nights. There are opps posted in the call center for extra hours so 40 hours is not the limit. You can pick up some extra hours so no need to hussle out to a part time job. They on occasion give out $75 Cadilac Fairview cards for working extra hours on prime shifts were the call volumes...

As a current employee and member of management team, I would like to add some comments about our workplace and my own experiences with First Media.

IF you want your management to treat you as a child, this is the place to work for. It is true you must specify why you are wanting a day off. If the supervisor feels you should have it off only then is it granted. Supervisors hold grudges and it is not any better the higher up you go (in management). They only care about the money the bosses are making not the conditions of the workplace and...

I worked here for years. The only thing I miss is some amazing co-workers that I had the opportunity to meet. Then sadly, I had to watch them loose self confidence because of how they were treated by this company.

There were a few good supervisors, and one amazing new call center manager that wanted to change things around, and improve moral and life for the call center. She resigned...

The overall company has its issues, but the Call Centre is neglected and treated like second class citizens, as well as the loyal customer base that's been there for many years.

Call Centre staff is treated like a kindergarten class and only if you suck up to certain individuals do you achieve anything. The Call Centre is understaffed, under paid and the...

As far as call centres go, I would say that that the level of stress is uncalled for. The work environment is like that of a grade school at best and having to fear for your job each day at worst. Unlike most companies who try to better their employees and the company itself it appears that this company is happy with anyone who can answer a phone. The job is simple and could be performed by...

Depending what part of the day you work, the company is very well structured, employees receive a variety of feedback from management. The pay and benefits are good. The job is not too difficult. First Media Group, has a poor business model in my opinion, costumers that have been loyal spenders for many years are treated almost as bad as free trial hill Billys.

Biggest issue is the...

This was clearly the most horrid company I have ever worked for. The management from top to bottom was spiteful, incompetent and should really be assesed for their own training needs.

The layout of thir center is pitiful, air is awful and people are crunched together like sardines it reminds me of a call center third world sweat shop.

Although at first glance it might seem that this company is successful and enterprising, the management and supervisory staff within the call centre are woefully incompetent and puerile.

The physical environment is shabby and inadequate, the air quality is horrible and the equipment provided is hopelessly antiquated, obsolete and often doesn't work at all.

The worst "company" in the world! The people that are there to be your superiors are worst than 5-year-olds, they hold personal grudges and make your time there unbearable. God forbid if you have a personal emergency; choose: go to Grandma's funeral or lose your job.

And who told you to try to advance in the "company"? The 5-year-olds with the personal grudges will let you know that...
