In my department the management has a problem with micromanagement, all the way down from the Vice President. Ageism is very prevalent. Red tape is overwhelming making it difficult to be successful. Office politics are the worse that I have encountered in my career. It's a shame because the work is interesting and the rank and file are great people. My colleagues are committed, smart people who are being stifled by managers who are only looking to climb the corporate ladder and make themselves look good to their superiors. Too much government interference and most people are afraid to lose their well paid jobs.
