Microsoft has good products and pays well. Benefits are industry average and respectable. The tarnishing comes courtesy of management and the badly managed infighting and politics. Sucking up is the norm and will earn you good reviews and a job security. Hard work is not what you think. Hard work is working hard to suck up, be visible and get your name out there - it is constant PR. Best jobs for which we position ourselves in June are WFH with help from contractors. Still you need to be in with the boss and their boss to be given plum positions regardless of previous results
