I just quit my job at vehcom linamar. I wouldn't wish what I have been through in the last 9 months on my worst enemy. I started as a temp and had to work so many hours to get a 6 month contract then had to bug the supervisor every day for a month to get it by that time I was 300 hours over what I was told I needed. Training is very poor I was trained by a Hungarian who didn't speak English at all for 6days then the first day I was on my own operating a machine that I wasn't sure what it did I was told to train a new guy. They never asked if I wanted to do overtime I was told what days I would be doing. I had to put up with abuse from the line operators I told the supervisor about it in which he said so what. One week I was at my limit of 60 hours the supervisor told me I had to do another 12 hour shift I told him that will take me over my hours his response was i don't care just do it. On another occasion I come down with the flu ached all over couldn't pick up parts I told the supervisor I needed to go home he said to me who will do your job go sit down for 10 minuets then go back to your machine. 3 weeks before Christmas they took away Quality bonus and modified rate from everyone on a 6month contract which cut my wage nearly in half. I had 3 weeks left of my 6 month contract I asked the supervisor when will I find out about a perminet position he said to me it depends and walked away as he was walking away I shouted depends on what he turned and laughed at me the second time I approached him he completly changed the subject. Then I started to ask a seconed supervisor he just said congratulations. So I gave up asking I was 2weeks over my contract finally I get called to HR just to be offered a 3month extension whilst 2 people that I trained and where there 4 months less than me where given full time and QB. I wasn't given a reason for this happening So right there I quit all HR had to say for it was that I would never be able to work for another linamar plant again to which I replayed that suits me just fine so before you even consider taking a job at linamar think twice it discussting that a company can run the way they do
