  • I worked for Cp as Conductor for almost 3 years. If you're a single guy/girl with no kids, you want to travel and make the big bucks for a couple of years, Go for it! Many guys complains that the pay sucks but it reality, most of them don't know the reality of today. Jobs that pays so well and require almost no education aren't easy to find. Been on trains is a very cool experience and provide a great feeling of freedom. Although, Do I recommend CP rail as a career? Unless you always dreamed to work under the regime of Stalin, the answer is NO

If you hire on for Cp, you better off put your personal life in the trash. You never really know when you'll get called to work, you'll never know when you'll be back. You can ask for days off but they can call you 2 hours before it stars so you end up working on your day off. Sad but true. Sometime you'll be gone for more than 25 hours sitting in a bunkhouse listening to grumpy guys who are pissed of at how this company don't give &$*% about their employees. The working environment is absolutely horrible. The moral is so low that sometime you wonder if you're in North Korea.

The job itself it's really cool, pays well but sadly is no worth it. I worked for great and not so great employers in the past and CP is the worst I ever worked for. Stay away from CP rail, period!

Big bucks??? Really ! for what you sacrifice its a small cry from big bucks. Big Bucks is appointing a CEO and paying the guy 50 million to cut and slash everything to make a profit short term. Thats big bucks working ten hours with no lunch break 5-6 days a week all hours night or day for $290.00 is not big bucks bud
