Bayshore Home Health

Size of company: Large (More than 500 employees)

Industry: Health Care, Social Assistance

  • Unheard of work loads, check the job descriptions....carefully... Because as large and encompassing as they are, it isn't everything that Bayshore will ask of you!
Un organized office, in one call I was told by three different people , three different things!
Or are people quitting so often that no one knows who does what anymore?
you'll have to fight for what your rights are, because Bayshore does not give them to you respectfully as they should!
They have used intimidation and malicious tactics. And when it is brought to light... No one apologizes!
Staff morale is low because there is little respect.Try to reach any one in charge on a week end!
The people who run the office are often unavailable. Leaving messages only to be told a week layer that they didn't receive any message!

Just ask any one wearing the Bayshore outfit... How do you like your employer?

Any Facility, in one day, can give you more hours than the burnaby Bayshore has given some of the casuals over an entire week!

Summer of 2013 and Bayshore is hiring yet again and here I sit with 1-2 hour days. I tell them I want to have more hours of work and they tell me to 'open up my hours of availability' I did and I got a .5 hour at 9pm....that's half and hour...at the end of my night....AFTER I WAITED ALL MORNING FOR WORK
they tell me they want to hire more care aides...why? Im not getting enough hours and I PHONE the scheduler every day. Bayshore tells me that they are hiring more care aides in my voicemail and that I should tell everybody to apply at Bayshore but I am not getting enough hours.
They put hiring commercials in my voice mail FOR NEW HIRES and I am not getting hours....
when I ask PLEASE GIVE ME MORE HOURS I am told they don't have any hours to give unless I give them more hours of availability and when I do...I sit and wait for a half hour or nothing of work....and waste another day waiting for work that never comes. Then
they call me on my days off to give me work....I told them its my day off but because I was so desperate for hours as I only worked 8 hours for my entire week
I took the work...three hours of work.
When they hired me they said they needed help but now that I am there...I get one or two hours of work in my days.
I thought it was an isolated occurrence, but I found out it is happening to almost every casual and for years, and when you try to talk to the office about it they get mad and rude at you.
They try to tell you this is how community care is and its all part of being a community care aide but that is not true as other places respect you and your time and would give you either more hours of work or at least have your hours set together and not spread out over the entire day.
I have tried to explain to the office over and over about how hard this is, but its like talking to a brick wall.

I'm a BAYSHORE worker, same what I feel. Agree with all your thoughts. Our branch in Whiterock ,is the same from your branch. Out of 10 my rate for them is 2 from area director to the staff

To the original poster, if you'd be willing to speak more about your experience with bayshore, email me at m.haberstroh@gmail.com, I'm trying to pull together a story on the way they run as a business for one of the bigger news organizations in the country

Bayshore again has another ad in the paper and workopolis. I havent been given a job for almost 2 months now. They told me there is no work available?????????????? and now they have posted looking for more PSW to hire...this is in the Kitchener area. Management here is totally incompetent, they never return phone calls. I have to go to the office in person to get any answers. I"m now looking elsewhere for a job...this place sucks bad.
